<div class="IPBDescription">how</div> i have got pretty...really good as lerk in co maps,but when it comes to NS maps,i tend to only have sc or mc, or dc and mc near the beginning
on co you have get alot of upgrades,making the lerk pretty good,but on ns,i seem to be either using focus and adren,or regen and adren,
i would just like to hear strats people use as lerks on ns(please only consider having 2 hives,by third hive its pretty much over anyways)
ive got used to using focus cause i enjoy the strong attack,and i tend to get out of control if i bite to fast,but has anyone had any luck using cloaking?and if you used cloak would it be better to get silence considering you wont be flying to the enemy as much,since youll be cloaked,waiting for them to pass,then move in,spore,and bite
or is it best to always get adren as a lerk,so your always able to keep flying well in and out of combat

I don't think silence is a viable lerk upgrade... it used to be (with the spikes) but now it's next to useless in NS classic since gliding is silent , and suprise attacks with focus generally kill the targetted marine , and you have to instantly fly away regardless of the result.
Else , always adren. Umbra is vital , you need adren to shoot umbra , bite marines , and escape (needs more flapping than normal flight) ; at 3 hive there is no choice whatsoever , as primal scream uses half your stamina bar.
I'd say best lerk fighters take focus , but I prefer SoF (better at 3 hives with primal scream) , this upgrade helps picking your fights and survive longer (much needed in ressource deprived games) ; cloaking seems the least useful upgrade for a lerk , better stay in range of a sensory chamber to hit marines by surprise. Walking lerks have no kinetic energy to escape faster so they're vulnerable. But hiding on high place near sensory chambers may work in wide , open rooms (like Cargo on Nancy , or Viaduct on Nothing)
silence is only good now if you gonna use regen. and hide in vents and stuff to heal.
in 2.0 i used to get cloaking, silence, and regen. and I would just hover cloaked in some room. then gas em and cloak again, was fun.
adren is good, celirity if you know how to fly realy good. but if you get celirity plan on biting more than gassing, and gassing is one of the main realy good weapons of alians
Actually, I disagree. With SC first as a lerk, you can really make a pain of yourself with spores and SoF. You can almost be guarenteed not to lose your lerk (since you can see marines coming) and you can target areas of large conentrations of marines to really make your spores count.
There is nothing more annoying than an early lerk who knows when you're coming.
This is a bad analysis.
Because the lerk is support now and no longer a spam unit, it's wiser to either get celerity or carapace.
Generally spokes will not do the killing for you. Your team will have to rush in and kill with bite attacks.
For this reason a lerk that is more effective at using their bites are much more useful.
A lerk with celerity is extreamlly quick and can land in the bites to finish off marines.
A lerk with carpace is good like a celerity lerk as it's tough to kill, but being faster is more important IMO as a lerk.

does anyone know how to bind keys so it does an attack? like q for spores and e or umbra?can you add multiple commands to a key? like select weapon 2;fire;select weapon one
or am i stuck with shooting spore+umbra via selecting them at them,fly in,and kill...which works
weapion 2;+attack;wait;wait;-attack;qickswitch
something like that. that way it switches back to the old weapon

If you see, I always have Celerity on my list. That's because extra speed = much harder to kill lerk. As opposed to Adren lerks which die quickly without Umbra.
But....if it's a CO map, you can get all 3 of those....
Either way, it's up to your playstyle. You can go hit and run (Celerity/Regen) or frontline hive defense (Carapace/Adren)
Quite honstly....from time to time, I get Silence for my lerk. It definitely helps when marines don't have Motion Tracking yet. When they do however, you're as slow as a vanilla lerk, and don't have anymore benefits from silence.
silence works real good on Co maps,i dont get focus,just primal

Lerks are primarily support units. IMO celerity isn't of much use in regular NS since bite is effective only when taking on marines travelling in ones or twos. Umbra is a big, big help in any given situation, not only to the lerk but to the other aliens he is meant to support.
And spores are godly.
