where is it
i mainly play as alien, and often hear the words "HA near cargo" and people just seem to lose hope

or sometimes when i play marine,in the first 5 minutes i hear "Oh **** a fade,its over"
and the truth is,most the time if you dont have a big unit as well it seems that you are slaughtered for awhile
i feel the lack of midgame is do to the fact that to get the best thing, you just res horde, which takes the game from nothing,to finish
i personnaly, having playing many warcraft games(rts) think it would be more effective if the larger units costed LESS res but made weaker,so its more a question of how good you can use the unit rather than"OK we have 3 onos, lets go"
-for any of you that care about the rts,or played warcraft 3,the largest units WOULD be the strongest, but not so good that the other team could not with without there strongest units

well i dont really know if i got a point across so ill try to rap it up so it seems intelegent
making units less res,but less invincible at start would bring in more of a mid play games, and people woulldnt be hording there 70? or was it 80 res to just become a onos, with these changes it would bring more of a skill factor in,rather than a 500 armor facter
please post comments or ideas on my non finished subject--no flaming please
[edit]--also please dont post on grammer or spelling errors,i tried my best

Because marines control the whole map and get heavies before aliens get fades or at least one onos. it's just from what iv seen playing on pubs 10vs10, a few times.

marines usually get owned in scrims/matches (6vs6) games...

Jared : Bear in mine 3 Onos is 225 Res minimum, before upgrades.

That's.... *counts* around 5 Heavies at with HA/HMG and the armoury upgraded. Add caty packs to taste.

Best thing to do would be to add more mid game upgrades, and make the end game upgrades more expensive.

I think its all strategy and mid games can be competitive. There are a billion startegies and it all depends on what each side does. Marines can get a pg up near a hive with 3 ips and just rape the hive at the start. Someone can save for a fade and kill all the elec rts (makes elec rts soo useless) but since the fade only has one chamber 2 people with shotguns(20 res) can kill it. Also, one fade cant be every where. A good marine team can still over come one early fade. I have never seen an early HA though. If someone saves straight for ono thats a huge waste. Say they get regen they will be slow, no stomp, no stamina. 3 light marines can kill it even if it tries to run away early. Most of the time the team with the better players wins. Sometimes a team gets lucky, bad comm, or multiple res whoring aliens. (1 alien should save for 3 chambers, 1 for hive, 1 for fade to kill elec rts not to attack base or marines, the rest all put down a rt no freakin o chambers at start of game noobs)

Midgame is the most interesting part (if a team get screwed at start, they is no midgame).

During midgame, each team can "produce" spearheads. The team who wins the midgame res fight get a strong option on game end.

The team must be shared in two parts, defenders (protect territory) and attackers (kill enemy res/structures).

The aliens are much mobile and faster than rines, but they lack a comm to coordinate their actions. But if they do work together, rines can kiss their installation goodbye.
Their reaction time are way above rine's.

The rine have to rely on PG or map presence to respond to alien fast moves, they have the comm to coordinate them that has a field overview.

But the comm have a LOT of things to do. He have to guide the whole thing and try to find the right way between droping weapons to the rines, go on with structures upgrades, and save in prevision of full team equipment.

Midgame is terrific. It is actually working very good.

The best game are those where midgame stay undecisive for a while, that means that each side is fighting hard to get map control (or is equally worthless )

    My 2,0, midgame rules !

The midgame does exist but is a direct result of the aliens having two hives and both sides having a good amount of rts. If this situation is mainteined from the start of the game then you get a midgame with each side using just about max tech until one side loses something important. This is where the good battles come from.
