heh, those are actually the undercarriage boosters, its a fighter, so i figured it would need to move fast, so i put them on the sides and underbody. I decided not to add the landing gear beacaues they would be hidden, and i wasnt planning on using them.
Just a question, but, what does this have to do with NS? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Does it matter if it has anything to do with NS? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> You could slap that baby down in a map, would make a great addition I think, lol!

Off-topic models will get more useful comments/criticism in a forum more directly related to modeling. Not everything in Artwork is NS-related, and no one complains there.
I always see people saying they would through it in a custom map somewhere and all i can say is thats nice and all unless ur gonna be able to fly around in the damn thing even though i respect his work they do have points "I" would classify it as art but thats just me. looks nice by the way
I've been a long time advocate of allowing people to post non-NS related models in this forum. I don't check the artwork forum much, since I imagine it's for concepts mostly. So, don't mean to hijack the thread, but I'll contribute something I'm sitting on.
Here's is the outcome of my first foray into OpenGL programming(picture below). It's not possible to see all the features of the program from this picture, but it's able to zoom and rotate. It's ~800 lines of code, no lighting since I wanted colours and adding materials was just too much work.
Jaeger should recognize this immediately, since he's a stravag. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Anyway, nice dropship. Looks like it should belong in Homeworld or something.
No, it's just using the glut library and a bunch of calls to OpenGL functions. The premise is the same as poly by poly modelling, it just takes a VERY long time to do even simple things. It's a very primitive way of doing things, since you're working with coordinates only, but it's interesting to find out how these modelling programs work under the hood.
Very nice droppy did u make it from refence pics of just make it up as u go
abyhow i like mechs altogether so very nice jamil now if only we had something like that in Ns.............................../me. ponders about the Atlas From MW
drake can you make me a mech concept? i want to work on one but i got no ideas <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Vulture... messy freebirth scum and their Inner Sphere designations. Only true mechwarriors and their sibkin may call that machine by it's real name: Mad Dog.
Nice ship thingy, Chet. Optimize the polycount for lowend machines and see what the mapping forums think. You could be looking at the marine spawn for a future official map.
lol, no im not pro <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> I used parrays for most of the debris of the explosion, and a lens flare on a fireeffect (sphere aparatus) to get the explosion effect.
