Hey, is i possible for me to look at the pre 1.0 change logs? Or is there any site dedicated to NS pre 1.0. I think it would be quite interesting to see some of the original designs and such from 'old' ns.
Theres a few old screenshots floating around somewhere, my suggestion would be too look back at the forums, they are probably the biggest record of ns history.
Thanks for that! But, i also want change logs, the oens we never got to see. I think it would give us a better understanding of how NS truely developed.

How about releasing a really old version of NS (pre 1.0 that still had the Nuke in it) just for the people around now to have a go on it and see what it was like before it went public.

In a somewhat surprising move, the Natural Selection team has announced today that they are removing the aliens from their upcoming "humans vs. aliens" mod, Natural Selection.
"We've decided to drop the aliens and focus more on the realistic, squad-based tactics of the marines. People want realism. No one wants aliens. Just look at how many people are playing Counter-strike. Now look at how many people are playing Aliens vs. Predator. Honestly, I don't know what we were thinking."
"This is a team decision, and everyone on the team feels like it's the right thing to do. They were really delaying the release date, and frankly, they're a huge pain in the ****. I think I speak for the community when I say, I never want to see another xenoform, slime-mound or hive-thingie ever again." But what will fans think of this?
"I think they'll understand. Most people didn't want to play aliens anyways, they complained that the marines were going to be too powerful with their rifles and phase gates, so I don't think anyone will really mind. Some of those taken out probably because Flayra wanted to keep the game PG13. Hell, I probably wouldn't be playing NS if there were background screams or other scary stuff :X>
got you all beat. I have an NS "gameplay" video dated november 7th 2001. It demonstrates the in game menu, as seen through the eyes of an alien, which was at this point, gordon freemen with the bee gun. The command interface, and the command chair, which was a large tower with a ladder, and a console at the top. It also has in game particle editing which i thought looked kind of cool.
If RR.org ever gets back up, I downloaded a screensaver from there yonks ago, it scrolls through a bunch of pre-1.0 screenshots. It's insane how big the GL used to be!

Ok, I just browsed around my HD and found a small folder where i used to collect all kinds of ns related stuff i found on the forums before 1.0 was released. In addition to that i copied the stuff that was released immediately after the NDA ( non-disclosure agency) was lifted and the PTs were able to say whatever they want. ( If someone still knows who wrote that down, i would be pleased to give the author credit)
