Relics shot was nice but that's not what i'm trying to accomplish. I wanna make a room where you accually don't SEE the aliens coming. This is why it's VERY RED in SOME places (allmost everywhere right now but i'm working on it)
The color red is as easy to hide in as it effects one psychologically, like in relics map.
Confucious says, "It is most difficult to find a small alien in a dark room, especially if it's red." <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
im not sure what you changed in respect to lighting, but those revised shots look really good. perhaps its just the way the new texture changes the area, either way... keep up the new-improved spooky redness!

I think it looks top notch! From what I see, it looks like it's right out of a movie. Maybe a couple small white lights near the floor, but otherwise it looks great. I don't think it's too dark either. I think lights near the floor would give a sense of direction. Excellent work.
Hi again! Sorry to interrupt with this compleately useless information: (right now it is but later you will know what i mean) I've decided to rmeove alot and build the map the way i thought from the beginning. you'll see. it gonna blow your ### up, that's for sertain! <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Maybe I'm slow or something, but I've been mapping in WC since Quake and am still only this good at it.....
I'm experiencing heavy disturbance in the mapping area. i'll save these brushes for later and insert them into some future project. (accually i started it earlier today)

I think very tense gameplay will fit in these red surroundings. But how much of your map is like this?
I can imagine something like this, first you see these nice <s>greyish</s> rooms that look like the are supposed to be command centers, or at least somewhere higher ranking personnel would hang out. Then another place in the map there would be these maintance hallways were you could use these red lights. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
Once I went in this submarine that is by the docks at San Fransisco, and that was a really cool experience indeed. You could see all these beds in one room, and in the next room wich was the 'brigde' or something like that it was lit with red lights 'cause, as you probably already know, red light let's your eyes keep staying used to the dark.
So places where it would be likely that people worked at night could be nice places to have red lights.

I feel sorry for the marines...
on page 4 there are more shots with some white light in them.
EDIT: you can't say ###?!!

What is that big thing?
Some kind of lotech (lotech for the future) machinery
Good luck becoming a mapper!
Yeah, try year <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

This topic has grown much to big (and it's my fault). Nobody reads the posts it seems...
