Promoting Teamwork

god its hard to win as alien
The alst couple of games ive played have been slow painful losses for the aliens. I would love to see them win ocasionally.
Ok reasons for losing

1. General lack of strategy
2. Lack of teamwork

Far to often i see people just keeping their res. This isn't due to res hoarding but just a lack of ideas about what to do with it. All dropping res towers, someone getting chambers and another getting hive seem to happen much more rarely, everyone seems to assume others are doing it.
When the marines start taking control of the map the aliens just seem to let them. Oh theyve put up an rt...or someone yells theyve got furnace...that part of the map seems to get wiped from the teams view.
I haven't seen a single organised rush on the alien team in three games.
This lack of organization...none uses voice anymore..everyone plays for themselves....no one instantly comes running when you yell..hey team they are building at ....
The last thing is coordinated attacks with each lifeform useing abilities to help the other, these just don't seem to happen.

Now all of the above are just general observations...none of these people are ns noobs or refuse to do teamwork on principle they just seem infected by apathy.
Aliens always seem to be on the defensive. Its so rare for the aliens to take the initiative anymore. This lets any com pick the battlefield and run the aliens ragged as they try to defend. Its also become rare to patrol the map for the lone pair of marines ready to put up a phasegate right next to the hive.
All this has added up to the aliens getting completely slaughtered. The kharra need to take back the initiative!

I second that. to much res whoring. it ends with ppl going onos cause they do not know what to do with it.

    I use my mic always.

If you have your own server, check out this Team Resources Display Plugin. If you don't have your own server, feel free to connect to the one in my sig to see how this plugin works. Essentially, it allows anyone on the alien team to see the res (and class) of every other alien. This is a great catalyst to teamwork (something we pride our server on). Ultimately, you're in control of your own res, but it makes it easy for you to get help from your team when deciding where/how it can best be used.

Maybe you need to find a new server to play on. Where I play (see sig), aliens frequently crush very powerful, talented marines with teamwork. Fades in umbra, spores weakening marines before engagements with higher lifeforms, webs halting marines for the skulks, Onos stomping HAs for the skulks, skulks baiting marines for the fade around the corner. Great stuff. I was commanding a game on hera just a few hours ago. Marines had a HUGE advantage at one point... talented marines, mind you. The aliens were very aggressive all over the map and eventually, through coordination, communication, planning, and strategy, pushed us into defeat. It sucked, but ... wow.. what an AWESOME game.

Best of luck as you search for teamwork. It's out there, you just have to find it.

I concur ... teamwork is out there, and is indeed quite scary, but usually not revealed. I think its because -most- of the time the alien team is quite uninspired, and lack leader-types such as a commander... a few people with microphones can really do the trick though

ever played with a lot of members of a clan? a good clan will have stratagies and great teamwork whether they are aliens or rines.

i find in pubs you will always have a few onos savers... or people that just dont know how to do anything. in pubs you really need someone with a mic to tell people what to do. acting a bit like a commander, except for the aliens. it really helps to have someone say "nsplayer i see you havnt gotten an rt yet. i hope that means your saving for our next hive".

Perhaps there are more begginers who came from combat. Or you were just the victim of unfortunate team stacking on the rines side It happens...
