It only seems to pop up on Internet Explorer. Any help would
be much appreciated.

Basicaly MS has made it fairly easy to install language packs (and aparently symbole packs also), all that has happened is that you can now read foreign language documents more properly (that so dons't work as a sentance)
If some one has written something in another language and they needed special considerations for certain spellings/gramaticle styles/etc they would use this, and only some one with this installed would probably see it properly <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Apparently I had Korean and English language packs installed.
How the hell Korean got in there i'll never know. I removed it, restarted
my machine and voila... it was gone.
Thanks for the replies guys, we got there eventually <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
