I've searched the forums but could not find anything relating to this.

Is there any way of adjusting how far up the screen the chat messages appear? I ask because it seems odd that they appear half way up the screen instead of near the bottom.

ummm, I don't think so (this has come up a few times...)

nope, it's hardcoded.
I suppose Flayra changed the value because the text appeared over (or under) the HUD.
