Drawing/sketching just needs just a new way of looking at things. If you want for example to draw a person holding a gun. Just make a very rough sketch with only the lines of the motion the character is in. (even only lines will do that job)Then add more and more detail as you go.
Also when drawing look at the world arround you and look closely at details. Then try to draw it. Using examples of sketches would also be very helpfull. And keep in mind that not all sketches have to look perfect. I you get stuck on a sketch dont worry about starting a new one.

I like the picture only the face, as some other people said before, looks dented on his left cheek.
A face is mostly simetrical, well it's not a front view of the face in yourdrawing, but maybe make the face more round underneath his cheekbone.
