<div class="IPBDescription">you know, the vaporware console guys</div><!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->The potential suit stems from a <a href='http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTEy' target='_blank'>September 2003 HardOCP article</a> on Infinium and the Phantom, which singled out the company's chairman and CEO, Timothy M. Roberts, for special attention. The article pointed out that several companies on Roberts' resume had gone bankrupt, and it claimed to have firsthand reports that the Infinium offices were a "ghost town" at the time.
In a conference call to analysts and the press, Infinium president and COO Kevin Bachus said the article was "false and defamatory," and it "painted a portrait of a company intent on swindling the public...and that is unacceptable."<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I remember this article and when it came out, it pretty much matched the general consensus of the industry. Hell it probably still does today.
Has Infinitum Labs done anything to proven that their console even works yet? I know they had something on show at CES, but for all we know it was hollow plastic, as AFAIK it wasn't shown being demonstrated or anything...
Now, I've personally met the guy who runs HardOCP. He's an honest guy, not the type to sling mud undeserved. Also the fact that HardOCP is perhaps the most respected hardware site anywhere, and I tend to take their word over this company which has still yet to show its product...

edit: nvm, clicking the link is all i needed to do
If Infinitum is annoyed at such allegations, all they have to do is prove them wrong, So far they've done nothing to that extent; we still don't know if the Phantom exists. Of course, this might just be a huge publicity stunt, and let's face it, the Phantom is getting to be a bit famous what with the belief that it's vaporware.
haha!
