And the only reason was because it sounded cooler, Flayra said that was correct at some point and that english grammar is apparently not a hot topic around here. Had Flayra not said anything, it would've been Onos, I guarantee it.

Be that as it may, he didn't invent the english language. He can't assign faulty grammar to a word just because he want to.
On a related note, shouldn't the singular actually be "O(h)no"? After all, the manual state that the name comes from several marines saying "Oh no" that marked the first encounter. The marines did *not* say "Oh no's", meaning that they, following the logic of the manual, named it Ono. If so, the plural would without a doubt be Onos. It is still without a doubt Onos or *maybe* Onoses, it's just a matter of showing it to everyone else (but, having read the poll thread and seeing the arguments for it, and the "arguments" against it, I've come to the conclusion that you'll never be able to convince those people. They've made up their mind and think they are right, no matter how wrong they actually are).
Edit: And now, I've most likely gotten involved in an argument that will with no doubt end in the word *LOCKED* or whatnot.

He can make up whatever the hell plural he wants to. Besides, nobody "invents" a language; a language is whatever enough people say it is. But that's neither here nor there.
It is not a made up name. It is derived from the phrase "Oh no". If the plural of Onos is Oni, then the plural of "Oh no" must be "Oh ni". Needless to say, that is not the case.
As for lanugage, "U" is in that case a correct way to spell "You". A lot of people use it. Yet, that doesn't make it right.
Check General Discussion, read through the poll, and then just go ahead and use whatever word you're comfortable with, please!
