<div class="IPBDescription">why does nearly no rine do this?</div> I've seen rines and alien fight, BUT nearly nobody looks up to the celling, thats what skulks get res from, they hang in the celling and the riens die, they get up again, and when the rines realise that the aliens always are there, the aliens simply change place, so i wonder, HOW MANY RINES LOOK UP IN THE CELLING!

Secondly, listen to him ^^. More experienced players will check the all around the place. If they have enough upgrades they might just run through and if they get bitten they can turn around and kill the skulk(s) quick enough. I like to do the latter <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I've been accuses of wallhacking twice recently because I shot a skulk or 2 that was camping above a door. It's just trial and error I have been chewed by a skulk that camped there before so I always check it now :/
From that experience I learn where to look as a marine.
as marine I always check the ceiling. most of the time I jump through the door while having a very quick check over the door. If i don´t see a skulk with this quick look--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo--> -->sometimes i win, sometimes i dont. depends on my upgrades and how much sleep i had last nite.
jumping through the door works very good for me cause it seems faster ( not sure if it really is). plz dont flame me for bunnyhoping cause i don´t do this at every door!

but just camping outside a certain passage where many marines will come through, gets so many kills if they havent heard you yet .. even experienced players dont bother to look if they havent heard anything
If you have MT and a skulk seems to stop moving, then retreat. He is either cloak walking or just walking to somewhere else. Get some help then proceed.
Vents are your enemy. They are quick access, easy to overlook and inaccessable to the marines most of the time.
Recognize the different sounds of the aliens and their walking sounds. I can tell you the difference between a gorge, lerk or fade on the other side of the wall by it's foot steps and the sounds they make. (For creatures so based on stealth, boy are they every freaking noisey!)
Stay in a group, but spread out a bit. Don't have it where a skulk can get a bite on several of you. That's pretty much killing you as it rips your armor (more important than health in most cases) and leaves you open for another skulk to rush and finish the job. It's better for one or two guys to die with one taking a bit in a group of five then one being killed and the survivors having a bite on each.
Cloaking, it's evil. If you know the enemy is cloaking and don't have any anti-cloack tech, then use this strategy. Stay in a group, and where ever a skulk could hide normally and be effective (door frams, ceilings that have cover or small vents) then shoot a round or two there. It's good to line a door way with some LMG/HMG ammo than having a cloaked skulk come behind your team and own several before the rest realize that they're missing a few men, or their legs.
Other than that a lot of the time i'll just run there and rely on the mini map to tell me if any skulks are moving near me. The map is a lifesaver and if you have MT you can see the movements of all the aliens on it accross the entire map.
And I don't have faith. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
A lesson he often forgets ^^
It's just seems normal to me that u look in corners and on top of the ceilings.
Even with a buddy behind me.
If I got a buddy behind me as I go through, I look at the ceiling and corners, and rely on my buddy to shoot the skulks that hide in obvious (and thus unchecked) places.
If I absolutely must go through alone, I hold down shift, and quietly peek around corners. Few things are more satisfying than ambushing an abushee <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->.
NO! VENTS ARE EVIL! THEY ARE YOUR SWORN ENEMIES! BAD CHEESE, BAD! /me beats cheese with a gorge
Even with a jetpack, never go into a vent, even with a shotty. It's easy for the Kharaa to kill you as you can't move as much and are usually stationary. Not to mention that good gorges will web the insides of vents for an ambushing skulk or two. More tips:
Wanna be a sneaky marine? Wanna be able to hide in or near the alien hive without being noticed? Then here are a few tips. The alien recource towers, big, wide, and a good hiding spot. The one in Drill on Mineshaft is a good example. A wal behind you, nice contrasting lighting not to mention that there's a little hill in front of it. On Nothing's Powersilo hive, jumping to the platform under the hive and hiding in the corner under it is a good one too. Most aliens won't ever notice your because of the dark area and not to mention that it's a hive. What unsuspecting Kharaa would expect a marine to hide under the hive? See that alien that has been killing your team relentlessy, he's egging. Know what he's probably doing? Going Fade. Why not jump from your hiding spot and give him a big greeting with a hellstorm of bullets. Shoot out your LMG, then pistol then knife him if he's still alive. If there are 3 D chambers near by, then don't bother. Help may arrive or he may finish gestating before you can kill him.
Cool, thanks Mr. Kharra, I'll be sure to be on the look out for you when I play marines next time. BTW, I thought this was Fronteirsman Strategy, not a spot to learn the Kharra's tricks. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
