Binding Sounds

<div class="IPBDescription">how?</div> I just explored the ns-sound map and found some really funny sounds. I would like to bind these sounds to buttons. I know this is possible at least with the aliens screams (something about impulses), but I also found things like "we need better players" or " I see dead people".
It would be so cool to be able to use this in the game.
Is it possible to bind it to the num pad?

You can't play sounds in-game for other players to hear, at least without admin console hackery.

Although if you want it for yourself, use the "play" command. It works as such that you type: "play <the location of the file>". But you start the location already in your ns folder, so the location of "We need better players!" would be "play sound/hud/alien_needbetter".
So, to bind X to say that for YOU and only YOU no matter who is on the server or what options are used, you should have this line

    bind x "play sound/hud/alien_needbetter"

    in your config.cfg.

In the interest of keeping a certain unmentioned program from falling into the wrong hands and being used for great evil, I'm locking this topic.

Half-Life does not support playing wav files over a server without an admin plugin & admin privileges, or something similar.
