<div class="IPBDescription">are all the games on page 50? no problem</div> here is a thread for recruitment porpouses only. many rpgs, as time goes by, suffer from attrition. players die or stop posting, and the once full thread becomes empty. here DM's can recruit during a thread to keep thier numbers up. simply post your game and we'll see if we cant find anybody for you.
INTERESTED IN JOINING AN RPG BUT THEY'RE ALL FULL? simply post yourself and a handy DM will come by to pick you up. threads suffer from attrition all the time, so you wont have long to wait.

Spacewars, should be right at the bottem is looking for members.
Its a spaceship game really..
One is that we are gamers at heart. When we create a game, we go for action. That means that the game is build with a classic mission-enemy-battle in mind, which is fine for games but sucks for roleplaying. It's simply not possible to build a good roleplaying athmosphere that revolves around action. Action is fine, but not as the one and only storypiece.
The second is a classic new-DM mistake. When DMs begin a story, we want a good and exciting story to come out. Too often we even decide that story and think "It would be cool if this happened, and then this, and then I will reveal this plot hook, and suddenly they will realize that...". That is good for fan-fics, but again, sucks in roleplaying. Because no matter how much you try to hide it, believe me, the players will quickly realize that they're being railroaded and that their control over the story is limited by the script the DM has in his head. In fact, it's a common gaming thing too, since all cyber-RPGs have the same pattern. Given that there's no human intellegence behind the "DM", there's no way those developers can create a totally free game.
Avoiding the first is basically about thinking a bit before starting a game, and most importantly, KNOWING the trap. Know that cool game concepts make poor roleplaying environments. Avoiding the second is harder, because a "good" story is really tempting. But if you keep reminding yourself that this is the players' story, not yours, you should be fine.
Think I'll write this into the DM thread.
And Dea, I can see why you have a problem. It's quite hard to make killer-minded aliens the background for deep immersion roleplaying, since there's little interaction :/

You should start one then Xect, your a good DM. Or I might start one when I finish the Eternity Code.
Dee how about having the Hive as a mother like character who we can ask things and stuff.
Don't think that would be a good idea. Won't be any easier for me than it is for Dea.

He quickly began to rule Earth with an iron hand, and destroyed any form of resistance and complaints. The story is about one Resistance who is challenging the government.....
Go for it. Read the dungeon-mastering thread and you should be able to avoid the worst problems. Also, don't plan too much storyline beyond the opening situation, because you need to have room to allow the players freedom.
Anyway,
<i>Name</i>: Campaign Beta 1 (I couldn't think of a name, and this campaign will be mostly for me to tweak my universe, but I won't sacrafice game-play for it)
<i>Slots Free</i>: Four of Five
<i>Status</i>: Pre-Start
<i>Participators</i>: Xect
Have you thought of a title yet?
Could both of u PM me with the plot so far...(or as much as I need to know).
