Problem With Leap Attack

Is there a way to do with skulks leap attack 80 damage per second as it is in manual v2 and in in-game help? I was trying leap attack on a standing marine from all distances and angles but I was not able to do more then some 10 damage.
Can someone give me the answer?

Thanks

    Put the marine by a wall, insert your nose in the angle between the marine and the wall, aim slightly down, fire off a leap... you will do about 60-80 damage total during the course of a second.

    In 1.04, it used to be THE way of killings marines in vents (actually, the only way with the then-fubared marine hitboxes) as you did some 4 damage for every fps you had .. ie, with 99 fps, you could get upto 400 damage/sec .. even decent 60Hz guys got some 240 dps.

    This was of course only possible in vents, as otherwise, unless you hit with milli-degree accuracy, you would/will slide off a marine, doing only some 4-12 damage.

    Well then I think i will use only bite for attacking <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Leap is most effective for leap biting.

    However, if you want to do the whole 80 damage/sec, I recommend that you either leap straight down on top of the player/structure, or when you leap into the player, continue to push forward, so that you keep pushing against them. This will get as many touches in the leap time as possible.

    Although, it's kind of hard to do this in the heat of battle.. so I really only use it for leap biting :/

    If you hold duck, you won't stick to things, which makes this a bit easier.

    Trying to kill a marine with leap basically means putting your face at the tip of their gun, and holding it there for a while. Not terribly effective. If you really really want your leap kill (not leap-bite), get silence, and hump the marine's backside while leaping about once per second.

    Leap kills are impossible in any serious game unless the player sucks or is very hurt already. It didn't use to be that way, but both Leap and Charge have been completely nerfed in damage and never even brought close to their previous effectiveness. If you want maximum damage against a structure or stationary player, then stand on top of them, hold crouch, and leap straight down every 2 seconds or so. You'll kill a rine in a couple of leaps. Of course such accuracy is more or less impossible against a moving target.

    Yes, leap does piddly damage. However, it covers ground extremely fast, allowing the skulk to get those bites (or xenoe) in. Damage is not the absolute idicator of an abilities overall usefullnes. I think it is ok as is.

    Charge, on the other hand....

    Yeah the last time i was attacking with Leap was in the 1.x days (2.0 only for a small time) so I was curious if it is a change or bug :-)
