Replacing Leap Sound

possible?
I gislike the leap sound. Just my preferences. So i go and try and replace it with something a little more visocious, a growly roary type thing. But i get total utter silence in game. The file is the right name, the right place, I even tried making it the same exact length as the original leap sound. Nothing. Is it even possible to replace the leap sound, and if so, what am i doing wrong?

Come to think of it, WinAmp has a built-in WAV file 'builder'. Just load up any sound file that WinAmp can read, and run it through the plug-in (Nullsoft Disk Writer), under Output.

sure, it's nothing too special, i ended up settling on a hack of two ns sounds, cuz i couldnt get what i wanted to sound right with the format hl requires, but i still like it.

oh... i like that.... thats a nice leap. Sort of really sounds gruff, angry, and really in the mood for some blood. Me likes alot.

Use Goldwave 5.06 (it automatically converts your sound into the original format if you paste the sound into the "original" leap sound, pm me if you need "extra" help with it, such as registering.)

i was thinking of changing the whole alien team for a while there but not many of the sounds stick out to me as being bad, they all fit in. I might get around to it, but my boredom time is spent doing hackjob reskins
