starting today, whenever I enter a CS game, I'm gonna spam chat with, "how do I evolve?! when do we get heavy armor? why am I not respawning?? build the IP's!! commander, medpack!!11!"

I don't think i've ever once had a player ask how to buy stuff...
Its the gamers that make CS bad not the game itself. I play mostly on a 56k HPB WC3 only server and i have to say i never see any of the better then everyone else attitude you describe. The only thing we do hate is LPBs... apart from that the people i play with are nice. Yes you will get those idiots with comments but thats them saying it and not the game.
Please dont judge a game by the people playing it. Use some common sense.

LOLZ! Haven't heard THAT in a long time.
That's the reason I quit playing CS. The inmaturity was absolete on almost every server I went to. As I was getting older by the years, the more I realised how bad CS was and its players, especially my brother who plays CS 24/7 (my God strike him down).
Then I started trying out DoD & NS... so one day, I just went like "ENOUGH! I CANT STAND THIS LOW LIFE MOD ANYMORE!" and removed on the CS-folder! I think I never feelt so pleased and happy on the same time, in my entire life <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
The only CS related thing I don't like in NS is when people start taking out their knife (when they have full pistol and lmg clips). It doesn't make you run faster, it doesn't give you range...it makes you look like an idiot <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
Other than that, most of the retarded CS player generally say on the CS side of the NS/CS divide.

I played CS in 1.0 when the maturity level wasn't bad. But then when hacks came out, and 1.3 came out, oh jeez. Everything was hacks, and people became foul to the good player and vice versa. Now cs is a place for ragers/gamers. I'm a gamer but not a rager. People in Korea play a lot of cs at pc. All the people that think their hard insist on kicking other good players a**es for killing them then arguing.
This really did happen.... Even after that he kept calling me "bs"
If im not mistaken a vet back in 1.04 tested various loads of ammo and running with knife out and he found out that the less ammo you have the faster you run, the same goes for taking out your knife you are meant to move slightly faster.
The diffrence really isent alot tho.
Although im not sure if it made it into 2.0 and 3.0. Would be worth someone testing it to find out.
twitch is a component of skill
play Unreal Tournament the first. You will get destroyed. So actually maybe you shouldn't. But never denigrate twitch. How else are you going to be effective @ NS? And any FPS and RTS?
Trust me, the average dumb player is going to be lacking in a lot of things, he does not make it up in terms of twitch. I can indeed be skillful in hunting dividing and ambushing stupid players. Given equal planning however, who is going to win, the person who is fast or the person who is slow? The person who responds quickly or the person who responds slowly?
I last really played CS in beta 7.
It's like pop music.
It does make you run faster if they have not changed it since 2.01. Even pulling the pistol instead of lmg makes you a little faster. I noticed it when I was using the speedometer function of an old TFC client side hook to see how much you are slowed by picking up more ammo and such. The difference was(is?) on the order of 5% faster with knife pulled instead of LMG.
I mean, CS is not a bad game, but I'v seen better. What really spoils CS are the players. They think that CS is a religion of some sort and whoever doesn't play it, should be burn alive.
The majority of the players...arent.
