    Run it just as a dedicated server, or as your regular PC and a server too? Just as a dedicated server it will be WAY more than enough to handle NS, but you shouldn't play games on the same PC you are running the server on if you were planning on doing that.

    DSL - is that 640 upload or download, or both? Your main concern is your upload speed so find out what that is by going here

    and posting the results here after you run the test a few times and average the results.

    no matter how good ur computer is, u cant run a good server unless u have a VERY good connection (t1 etc.)

    i got an athlon xp 2000, 512ddr ram, and i cant host a good server for more than 10 ppl <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

    I have to ask, is your Athlon XP 2000 and 512 MB DDR a computer that you use as a desktop, because regardless of connection, my Athlon T-bird 1.3 GHz with 1024 MB SD-RAM can host no less than 16 players before it starts to work, and can most likely handle 20 or more. Bear in mind that, my machine is running Linux without X-Server, and all it does it IP MASQ, routing, and run the game server.

    P.S. I'm not trying to bash or argue, I'm just pointing out what I know.
