Milkshape 3D (Linked in the sticky thread you apparently read) is very easy to use, and for it's extremely low price tag, quite powerful. Also, there are an abundance of tutorials (Linked in the thread you supposedly read) which detail step-by step a multitude of modelling points.
Other than Milkshape, there's GMAX. A severely cut down version of 3DS MAX which was released for free for the sole purpose of modelling for games. There is a link to the download in the thread you supposedly read, and also links to tutorials, once again in that thread you apparently read.
On the topic of the big 3D Packages, Discreet are offering a 30 day, full featured, trial of 3DS MAX, which is quite cool for playing around with, you might want to download it, it's only about 75mb (For the core files) and discreet also have a number of their own tutorials. You can download that from discreet.com.
Waht about wings 3d Though i couldnt skin in that and i would have to ask someone to make the mesh and skin for me....
you can unwrap perfectly fine in wings. In fact, all you have to do is tell it what edges to separate the UVs on and it does the rest for you. I'm not sure, however how you can apply a texture in it.

My advice is to learn Milkshape 3D and use it. 3D Studio Max is more powerful than MS3D, yes but it isn't geared toward gaming models. Max is harder to conserve polies in, as well it cost way too much if that's all you want it for. (thousands vs. $25) I personaly love using milkshape over any other program. Also if none of the tutorials listed get your fill, i suggest using google or yahoo to check for some, particularly on either planet halflife or planet quake. I'd stear you to one but i dont have them in my favorites for such perposes
ok enough of *purchasing* or the thread will be closed i tryed many modeling programs, max, cinema4d, ms3d, ac3d, maya.... i like maya best, imo the navigation is terrible in max, i just didnt feel comfortable in it :/

you cant direclty compare car stealing and software piracy, and i dont mean it economicaly. well i wont say any word more about it here back to topic plz
hmm i think it is modelers job to unwrap the uv's, its his model and it is also done in the same program(mostly) the modeler knows his model best so it would be most efficient when he is doing it
well what i meant by *purchasing* was getting the 30 day trial i dont know what you all are talking about...... i also liked maya but i didnt know you could use it for games (**** me) eh now im used to max and trust me once you get used to it its awsome

As i said in your post in the artwork forum, i'm not going to do it for anyone if they can't be bothered to do it themselves.
I found no help in this.
