<div class="IPBDescription">From Tomshardware.com</div>A very interesting article comparing the various gaming performance benchmarks of Windows OS's. Lays to rest the 'Win98 is always better for gaming' myth once and for all...

Here's a quote from the conclusion:

In many of the benchmarks, XP and 2000 are ahead - albeit only by a small margin. The biggest advantage of 2000 and XP, however, is in the more modern architecture, which, thanks to the increased stability and safety from crashes, allows for a much more relaxed work environment - and, of course, increased demands on the hardware as well. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Anyway, is it possible to have a FAT32 Partition and an NTFS partition on the same system? The reason I ask is because I have a 4 Partition system worked out, and I _really_ dont wanna have to re-install all of my games/ applications and stuff, if at all possible, and ME is just not cutting it anymore.
So basicly, can I use my old FAT32's in conjunction with a NTFS boot drive?
If you are doing an upgrade over an older OS, it will prompt you during the installation.

mmmmm, Tribes 2 on Shodan....
/me hugglez monse
don't think tribes or ANY other 3d game would run well on shodan
shodan == proccessing power not 3d power
and without a 3d card or even a vid card ur not going to get far.

/me plays tribes 2 on shodan...
*shodan crashes, just like every other system that has ever run tribes 2*
I swear that game is just a big virus in disguise.

BLASPHEMER!
ACtually, since my latest driver update, and the latest T2 updates, It's been running flawlessly, dave the damn <NULL>
bug.
Oh, and monse, HOLY ####!
Crap systems that run XP/2000 like, well, crap, should probably stick with 98. That's because their system is crap.
But if you're system isn't crap, XP/2000 is the way to go!
And now I'll open up another can of worms altogether:
XP vs 2000
I pick XP because:
1) call me crazy, but I really like the new UI once I got used to it
2) better compatability than 2000. There's some hardware things I have that still don't work right on 2k.
3) I really like the fact that the two OSes are now merged to one product line, this can be nothing but good for us. For those that don't know, Windows 98 was originally supposed to be this way, but of course that didn't happen. Then they planned for 2000 to be the end-all, and that didn't happen either. And with ME they didn't even try heh.
But on the other side of the fence there are some people who love 2000 and hate XP:
1) usually they hate the new UI
2) Stick by the argument of XP being nothing but 2000 + the UI they hate, which is fairly accurate but not entirely true (XP has better manufactor, driver, and compatability support)
3) XP hogs more resources, especially hard drive space.
So what do you guys think?
