Snow Question

Snow drifts are now only as tall as me
I was on IRC the other day and someone mentioned that they had never seen snow before.

I thought how could this be. That sort of thing is a heresy in my area (Central Pennsylvania, and formerly Colorado Springs). After a few days above freezing (first time in 1.5 months), the snow drifts here are just about as tall as I am.

It just seems odd to me as one of my favorite things to do is have snow battles with my friends.

My question is: Has anyone on these boards never seen snow in person? If you haven't, do you want to someday?

And if you want some you're welcome to the few tons I've scooped out of my driveway.

awww what's wrong spooge, you no like the snow?

seriously, i can't really understand why everyone hates snow so much. I live in minnesota, so the natural thing for you to think is that we'd get a lot of snow in my area. well the last 4 or 5 winters have been terribly mild and we've received little to no snow. thankfully i go to vermont every year for a week, so i can get my snow there if nothing else.

but this year has been AWESOME!! After shoveling the driveway i was able to litterally jump head-first into the snow banks. it was a BLAST.

I can understand why some might hate snow.. Driving, cold, maybe they feel like it symbolizes death (no green leaves grass etc), lack of color in the world, whatever else you can think of. But seriously, a well covered winter snow-scape of woods, or a valley, or mountains, anything you can think of, is unrnouncably beautiful. Get your mind off your responsibilities and worries for just a few moments and enjoy creation for a change. I'm sure it's far more enjoyable than hating it all day.

Apart from the fact I can't go anywhere with the car (I live at the bottom of a steep hill) when it's snowing I like it! Snowball fights pwn. To tell you the truth I haven't been hit by one in years. I dodge them well.

Being from New Mexico and make frequent trips to Colorado, I've seen snow (yes, NM is a desert for the most part, but we still get a decent amount of snow). There are plenty of people out here (San Diego, southern California in general) whom have NEVER seen snow. Hell could freeze over, and i'd probably only get down to 40 F here. There are many Californians that have never left CA, I dont mean moved out, I just mean left for any length of time (especially in the winter). It's pretty bad.

You can go to Yosemite (...or spelt something like that) National Park in California and see snow. There are plenty of mountains in California with snow on them.

In other news, there's 2 feet of snow on the grass, and this uni doesn't feel the need to shovel/plow until about 4 days after it snows, so you get to slosh through the slush on the way to class.
