...oh wait, I never read the comments =s
I'm not even sure if it should be taken seriously but prima don't seem like the kinda company that would pull something like that. Is it based off the leak or does it mean HL2 might be coming out sooner than expected?
btw hi2u Gem

Chances are the comments are just people taking the mickey anyways =P
I guess they'd only need the story and playable engine to make the guide... wait... doesn't prima usually have multiplayer tips in it too? o.O
It would make more sense if he was a cybernetic entity... you know climbing backwards on ladders and shooting like an aimbot <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
doesnt that mean that valve can sue for possession of a pirated product, and helping a thief(of the source code)

What? It's an official strategy guide. From Prima, which is a reputable company. I would assume that the majority of it will be useless now, since I imagine Valve will probably tweak (and change) parts of the game.
I've been spoilerised yet again by these forums! Damn you, damn you all!
On another note, this is my 1 3 3 7th post, as a result I can never make another post ever again in order to preserve my awesome postcount, so I guess this is it.
(j/k)
its already in stores..............
Does anyone in here earnestly believe that, even if Prima could've based their solution on an actual gold-status disc, which I doubt, the designers, writers, and mappers of Valve spent this last half year sticking their thumbs into various orifices waiting for the coders to finish?
Once HL2 comes out, they'll have to issue a new guide.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't really believe that a walkthrough took extra care in giving the readers every detail of the story? Usually, they try to help as much as possible while spoiling nothing.
I see this as more fuel to the HL2 spectacle fire. I've lost almost all interest in HL2 since that bullpoo in October. I think it's obvious that the game was nowhere near finished on Sept 30th, because I really doubt that the hacking required them to spend almost another whole year to fix.
They need to come out of their little developer hole and speak to the community. And not vague, "summer, maybe, we guess, I dunno" statements. Something like, "Here are new screenshots that aren't taken from a slightly different point of view in the E3 demo." and, "We've given the SDK to certain mod teams such as 'Natural Selection' 'MOD2' and 'MOD3', these teams will help debug it, expect a public release within the month!"
I've no doubt that HL2 will be great, whenever it comes out. Until then, forgetting that the game ever existed is probably the best way to pass the time. Heh.
