So how many of those inventions were invented/discovered in Scotland? Most people moved to america or somewhere like that.

I don't see what this list has to do with anything. It's like that Onion article 'Man Proud Of 1/16th Irish Heritage' and it's got a guy running around telling his friends he can drink so much because of his 'Irish Blood'. So you could be 0.001% Scottish, invent something, and be put on that list? :/ When you come up with a REAL list of REAL inventions that were invented IN SCOTLAND by pureblooded SCOTS, then I'll be interested... I'm surprised you don't have "air" written on there.

oh and btw I would like to dispell the stereotype that the Scots are tight fisted due to recent studies indicating we spend and give to charity the most amount of money in the UK <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I have two things to add to the initial list:
    Civil war
    Regicide

Take a look at history and you'll see what I mean. Did any regents actually die from natural causes?
(Although being accidently stabbed repeatedly in the back or an unplanned change in altitude equal to the approximate height of battlement are two quite natural causes of death for a regent...)

You don't understand man these people weren 000000.9 Scottish they WERE Scottish. Yes some of them may have been immagrents but the were Scottish all the same. For example if Ben Franklin had discovered electricity in Italy it still would have been an American discovery. All those inventions/discoveries were made by 100% scots or were helped along by 100% scots and the majority of them were made in Scotland.

Inventions discoveries that took place in Scotland by "Pure blood" Scots -

    Anaesthetics - James simpson
    Antisepsis - Joseph Lister
Agricultural Reaping Machine - Patrick Bell
    Latent Heat - Joseph Black
    Brownian Movement - Robert Brown
    Colloid Chemistry - Thomas Graham
Pneumatic Tyres - John Boyd Dunlop
Chemical Bonds - Alexander Crum Brown
    Decimal Point - John Napier
First cloned mammal - Research facility in the north of Scotland
    Geosciences - James Hutton
    Golf - Origin St Andrews
Halloween - Yes this was created by the scots AND the northern English not you yanks
    Iron Bridges - Thomas Telford
King Arthur - Despite claims to the contrary, there is a lot of evidence that King Arthur and most of the knights of the Round Table were Scottish.
The Kelvin scale of temperature - Lord Kelvin (William Thomson)
    Percussion Powder - Alexander Forsyth
    Logarithms - John Napier
    Tarmac - John Loudon McAdam
Penicillin - Sir Alexander Fleming. This drug has saved more lives than the number lost in all the wars of history.
    Paraffin - James Young
    Peter Pan - J.M.Barrie
The Steam Engine - James Watt
Sulphuric Acid - John Roebuck invented the lead chamber process for the distillation of sulphuric acid.
Tubular steel - Sir William Fairbairn

There are so many others it's not even funny and all invented in Scotland.

The Scottish are all originaly decended from the Irish, they left Ireland to invade present day Scotland and destroyed the native people (the picts).

    Interesting but little known fact.
