Yeah, but you still have weapon model smack dab in the middle of your screen, which obstructs your view far more than the HUD. In fact, I think you would be at a disadantage for not being able to see your ammo and whatnot.
And thats nothing like what the HUD looks like when I play CS...
Are you not using defaults anymore or something? That IS the CS HUD. I play CS almost as much as I play NS--roughly an hour a day. I know what it looks like, and as an ex-sprite-artist for pre-steam CS, I'm very familiar with its HUD.
