    Here's an idea inspired from those Tom Clancy games (or from same game in the same genre): Shooting the hive extends the time limit. That would definitely fix marine camping. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    I'm wondering if each team should have their own timer under this system, so the other team doesn't benefit from their CC or hive being attacked.

    Well, if I remember right, the original Combat was designed to be a survival thing for aliens. Keep the hive alive for x minutes and you win. Hive dies, you lose. Only ways to win were to get all the marines in the respawn queue at once, or to hold out for the time limit (If memory serves right, though I believe that's how it was planned). I kinda liked that when I first heard of it. Kind of a basic concept, but it was okay. I like the idea of the timer which extends when you attack the hive...say an extra minute or 2 every 2-5% damage the hive takes.) Aliens shouldn't really require one, because ambushing (which generally requires camping) is supposed to be one of the kharaa's strengths.

    Ok guys I think you're going to like beta 3, which should be coming out some time today. During the course of a few test builds we got in quite few games in of up to 10 vs 10 players, and the team that did not attack lost consistently. We were actually noticing after a while when our opposition wasn't putting any pressure on us and would nearly always win a few minutes later.
