Upgrade To Shotgun Bug

<div class="IPBDescription">not giving it to me</div> I was playing NS in Combat mode earlier today and the map was: co_angst. I was on the marines team and I had already upgraded Damage lvl 1. Then I got another level and I chose to upgrade to a Shotgun. But once I'd clicked on 'Shotgun', I didn't get one, but my level (res) was used/gone. So I was still using my IMG and not a shotgun which I chose to get.

Then I got up another level and I chose to get a HMG, which it gave it to me.

Can you please fix this bug.

    The bug happens somewhat frequently. I believe it has something to do with moving at the same time you upgrade your equipment. The same thing can happen when you upgrade jetpack, heavy armor. If someone is close behind you they can pick up your upgrade. On one server i saw a level 1 marine flying around with a jetpack he picked up from someone else's upgrade.

    In all cases you respawn with the proper upgrade (and the person who "stole" it will respawn without it), so I assume it has something to do with what happens when the "commander" drops the equipment. I believe this is a known bug.

    this has happened to me before with the jetpack, while moving. I was pretty angry for a while, then I died. When I respawned I had all my upgrades.

    Fortunately, the game goes by what you pick, not what you have when you die.

    So if you ever have this problem, just kill yourself and everything sould be roses.

    Just to reopen this, a feature of the bug is that you do not get the shotgun back after respawn. You have to keep using the LMG until you either finish the round or get HMG/GL.

    Is it shotgun-specific (or weapon-specific), then? Does another marine "steal" the gun at all, or is it simply lost to the ether? I'd be inclined to write this off as the semi-common "having my bloody thing drop on top of someone else" phenomenon, myself, but I've always found that to be temporary, as was said.

    There are two cases:

    1. Any weapon that you upgrade to while you're moving at a significant speed results in you losing the weapon for that life. When you respawn, you get it.

    2. Sometimes you don't get the weapon back. This happened when I got a shotgun, it might occur with other weapons. I recall it happening with HMG.

    You're saying that items don't drop on other people in a close radius, particularly, but they drop "lagged" behind you, and if someone else happens to be there, they get the item. Did you notice (or remember) if another player got the weapon in cases when you didn't respawn with it? Maybe that's the difference, though I'd assume it'd be more common if it was.

    Wonder how much trouble it would be to redo things so combat items go directly into your inventory. Marines aren't that fast, after all.

    There does not need to be another person for the weapon not to get dropped on you. It drops on the floor and dissapears.

    Yes, and in such a case you've then respawned with the weapon?
