<div class="IPBDescription">Question</div> Does this mean my comp is crappy? in some of the newer maps like on co_kerstal(sp?) there is some lights that make my ping go 600 or so fps to 4.0 choke 100 and i think a loss of like 90 somethin my comp more then well meets the requrirements for ns. Olny having this prob in v3.0. The old v1.04 maps like ns_nancy i never used 2 lag on, now the new ver the lights make me lag bad <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif' /><!--endemo--> I'm getting a new comp this summer and i just want 2 make some of the ns maps playable till then <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

intel graphics controler /w latest drivers (WTH never heard of this crappy "graphics card thingy")

Btw i have my res on 800X600 and dynamic lights off highdeatil particals off (i think its called) r_alphamirror or w/e and some r_lights thingy off from the fps guide on one of these ns forums

ping, choke, and loss ARE NOT EFFECTED BY YOUR COMPUTER HARDWARE!

they ae all measures of network speeds/stability.

wich inturn leads me to believe that this has nothing to do with certain 'lights'

your running windows ME.
Here are things that MIGHT fix it:
1) Set all other games to not auto update (rightclick on them in the games menu)
2) Contact your ISP
3) Install a better OS.

Honestly, your problem could be stemming for lots of things, and it is hard to tell when some one is running windows me (it is just that obnoxious)

what is your internet conection btw?
