Mtg Decks &strats
<div class="IPBDescription">just the usual thingys of Mtg.</div> So HiYa
I was making my deck here and thought that maybe i ask you something like decks and starts.
I have red decks with lots of creatures and cards that get huge advantage of untapped lands these are like: Spur grappler, scoria cat, well of life/discovery
It has worked very well and i haven`t been beaten once yet against other decks (not counting deck with 4 of each CoP <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
So how do you like this and plz post your decks too!

I myself have never been a fan of red, but your deck sounds quite good, untill you go up against either a snatus deck or a good land destruction deck.
But since you need alot of lands I'm guessing that your deck is quite slow, and I bet I could beat it easily with my white weany rebel deck. It uses cheap but effective units like Longbow Archers, Fresh Volunteers, and Steadfest Guards, which are all 2/2 and only cost 2 lands to play. When you combine cheap white units with Crusade or glorious anthem which both give white units +1/+1. Then throw in a reverent matra (all creatures gain protection from the colout of you choice untill end of turn) to let all my units through and to destroy any enchant creatures you might have. All in under 8 turns.
Also, there are many decks that kill under 8 turns. In fact, if you have the right cards, some can kill in 1-2 turns
If I'm out to win? Slivers. Every time. A Green/White deck of Slivers pretty much destroys anything.
Ward Sliver early on, your primary deck colour, whack out a Brood Sliver or Plated Sliver, maybe a Sliver Queen and start pumping out more of 'em, all their cards benefit each other so it's generally a no brainer to win.
Quicksliver anyone? Any Sliver cards playable as instants from now on? Including Summons? EEEK!
For fun? My mistform deck. Blue Black mix, got a type of creature present in large numbers? One of my misties turns into it, Endemic Plague, all creatures of type you sacrifice are destroyed, GG. Relying on a single big'un? They all turn into same type, Peer Pressure, if I control more creatures of it's type than you, it's mine now. Wheeee....
That, and a constant pressure of 3/1, 3/3 and 7/7 mistform flyers giving you something to worry about in your turns.
The last deck I built was a mono-blue mana-control/bounce deck. The idea is to bounce the opponent's lands back to their hand, then try to prevent them from using any of their remaining lands. The deck works best when I can keep their in-hand cards at seven.
I've got Viseling, Black Vise, Silver Myr, Great Whale, and Palinchron in there for damage, Rishadan Port for a bit of still-in-play mana-control, Ankh of Mishra for those times when they <i>need</i> to play a land (<i>which happens frequently since I keep bouncing them back</i>), and a few Isochron Scepters to imprint my best cheap spells onto. The bouncey cards (which usually end up on the Stick) are Boomerang, Snap, and Temporal Fissure (storm).
Overall, the deck wins maybe eight times of ten games. It's a lot of fun to play, a blast to watch someone else play, but annoying as hell to play against. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Another thing in magic is that it often stucks in position where both players play summons/ wait for the mass o destruction deck. I have wells for that and those also make that i can tap 2 xtra land with 1 well. and usually i have very soon 2 well of lifes and chimeric idol so i get 4 life every turn and i can let those thing`s attack me without any problem.
That white weenie is quite legendary indeed with white/silver knights its only problem is that you will have problem immeadiatly when opponent has x/3.
That can be countered with crusades.
One thing i have allways wanted to try is full sliver deck Wawe got that sliver in sounded quite funny indeed and those bonus from every other sliver sounds great.
Could you Share your decks idea bit more?
Of course the most fun decks to play are ones with a cool (if somewhat useless) gimick to em, like an unglued deck (which I have), a Kor deck (another one I have, and it actually works cuz of the Rebel Taskforce in the deck), or perhaps the ultimate in uselessless: A Kobold deck (I have been trying to build one of these for a while but noone around here has any Kobolds for sale).
That's all I have to say. Or a Magma sliver and Sliver queen, care to overkill your oponnent by 200+ damage?

Sure.
I'd suggest googling for all the Sliver cards (note, Sliver, not Silver <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) but I do find them to be an utterly BROKEN deck. You can hand them to a monkey and it'll win.
For example.....
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Hehe I have always loved red, it has a special place in my heart (although take my word for it, NEVER build a mono-red deck, they're just way too easy to counter.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Any mono colour deck? A single Ward Sliver, and they're screwed. It's a 2/2, costs 1W/4Colourless (yes, high cost but I'll go onto that) and card text reads
"When Ward Sliver comes into play, choose a colour. All Slivers get Protection from this colour"
For a 5 mana card, that is INSANE. Throw 4 in a deck, they're not rare, and that alone can be a gamewinner. Chuck in some nice Plated Slivers (1/1's - All Slivers get +0/+1) and some Blade Slivers (same thing only +1/+0) and remember they benefit each other..... So one Blade & One Plated means they are now both 2/2.
Personal Other fave's are the Quicksliver (already mentioned) and Crypt Sliver (All Slivers get 'Tap to regenerate Target Sliver') EEEEK!
Before anyone jumps, I'm not saying they're impossible to beat, I just think they're too hard to beat by a <i>general gaming deck</i>. Simple if you make an anti-sliver deck, but if you're playing in a group or something, you're going to get pwnt because you can ONLY beat Slivers.
The essential slivers, imho, are <b>muscle sliver</b> (+1/+1), <b>plated sliver</b> (+0/+1), <b>essence sliver</b> (spirit-linked), <b>brood sliver</b> (creates sliver tokens if a sliver combat-damages a player), <b>ward sliver</b> (protection from chosen color), <b>clot sliver</b> (pay 2 : regenerate), and <b>victual sliver</b> (pay 2, sac: gain 4 life).
My essential slivers are typically white/green/black. Blue and red have some good slivers (ie: winged makes them fly, spined gives them rampage:1, magma is good for tons of damage...), but I found a five-color sliver deck to be painfully slow. Three colors is a nice balance.
If you build your sliver deck to have a lot of "pay per use" abilities, I'd also suggest throwing in a few heartstones - it reduces those "pay 2 : do something" abilities to "pay 1 : do something".
As for getting a full list of sliver cards, <a href='http://www.anycraze.com/magicsearch.asp' target='_blank'>here</a> is probably the best website for searching for cards. In this case, just put "sliver" in the title, check "non-foil cards only", change the results-per-page to 50 or so, then click search. Ta-da! A full list of slivers! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Well as for mono-color decks period the only ones I've ever seen win is mono-black, because black is just so versatile and yet straight forwards in killing crap. I, for example, have a mono-black zombie deck that just happens to own majorly, only been beaten once or twice.
And as for Slivers, they are rather overrated if you ask me. Sliver's can be handled the same way you handle ANY creature deck. For example, your opponent could have 4 muscle sliver's and a host of whatever else he wants, as soon as you cast Peacekeeper, they all become useless. And red seems to be especially adept when mixed with white. Simply use red spells to kill off any individual slivers they get out in the early game, defending yourself from any Slivers that you havn't killed with Master Decoy or Sheild Dancer until you get AEther Sting out, at which point all of his creatures are dealt 2 damage as they come into play, and since most Slivers are 2/2 or weaker, they are killed before they even reach the table.
elfie, elfie, massive creature on turn four, wildfire. both playing fields empty except for my fatty <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Sneak Attack is a good card for high mana cost creatures that arent that great, like Skittish Valsek
<b>Green Beatdown:</b>
This does exactly what it says on the tin. Big creatures doing big damage. It's only a 40 card deck, but it's fast as hell. Using combinations of Forests, Wild Growths, Llanowar Elves and Vine Trellis's, i can have up to 7 mana out within 3 turns, and it keeps growing from then on. I only carry about 7-8 land in the deck max, but that's not a problem.
Once the mana is pumping out, i start throwing down some Blastoderms (4 mana for a 5/5 that can't be the target of spells or abilities, fading 3 however) for some quick damage and then start bringing on the Thorn Elementals, Ancient Ooze, stuff like that. While playing mono-green with a minimal amount of spells, i do manage to survive with Naturalise, Creeping Growth and such. I rarely lose with this deck which is quite cool since i usually play 3-way games against one white control and one black creature destruction player.
<b>Red/Blue:</b>
This is a deck i threw together in minutes. It's cheap, has almost no duplicate cards, but i have never lost with it. It's just all so cheap. It's got a bunch of Counterspells, Shocks, Lava Axe, lots of red burn cards and lots of blue counters and bounce cards. I have a total of 3 creatures in this 60 card deck, one i have no idea why it's there (seriously, i didn't put it there) and the other two are Goblin Gardners... for some reason.
A deck this badly put together full of commons really should never win, but i dominate the battlefield with it, countering big creatures, bouncing attackers and burning players, even in a 3 way, it can dominate the whole play field.
