Marine Laundry Machines

I just wanted to know if the NS team is open to submitting new models for the marines or will they always shake like laundry machines when upgrading?

Also, is it possible for the HL engine to handle dynamic textures kinda like how the machine gun in Halo shows how many bullets are in the clip? Could those not be added so a marine can read off the building "Upgrading Weapons" or "Upgrading Grenades" with an acurate progress bar when those actions are occuring?

    There are no dynamic textures unless you count animations, ot moving around objects with textures on them. Even if there were, the engine can't really handle textures sharp enough to show detailed info on something the size of an armoury.

    i think any other animations would be unnecessary

    lone skulks in marine base do like to know what is upgrading though, the marines have no need for the animation

    Not exactly.

    Especially when you notice that you have 100 res in hand and your arms lab isn't shaking, and having armmor and weapons at lv. 2

    The shaking animation is a double edged sword. It gives away information a lot. Want to know if your armory is upgrading? See if it's shaking. Need weapon/armor upgrades? Check your arms lab if your comm is shaking.

    Anyone noticed how a marine resource tower sounds like a laundry machine <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The thing i hate is when as a skulk you get shoved in the drier and end up all fluffy and your hive expects you to go out looking like that!!

    Or when your comm decides as a joke to slip his nice new pink undies in with the TSA standard rine issue white socks...

    New upgrade for aussie players. The Hills Hoist clothes line. Comes with peg upgrade and height adjustability. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Actually when I was playing Firearms one of the models I had checked out was the Halo rifle, somone made it and the ammo counter did work. Although this was back when the G36 had the magic coding so that you could see through the plastic mag and check the number of bullets, so it may have been an applied animation of sorts.
