Fun
Haha yesterday I was in combat and I just got the xeonocide ability and carapace and celerity and just kept running in to the base and blowing myself up until the end of the match. It was fun and I got so many kills.
hehe. :> I like it too . sometimes when when someone whines like "sigh, can't you do anything else than xeno?" makes it all worth it . <- sarcasm. Yes, it's somewhat lame but so is GL spam :] in combat . I use SoF too.. and celerity.
What happened to the outrageous Focus+Carapace+Celerity+Scent of Fear+Regeneration+Silence+Cloaking+abilities SuperSkulk?
For some reason, I too find my most favoured build to be unpopular, usually because of Silence or Scent of Fear (that is, because I'm facing whingers who can't handle the fact that I didn't charge straight at them in their clear view). The best strategy is to ignore them
People also sometimes complain about Leap, and often about Xenocide, but I am never at the receiving end of those complaints because the only ability I ever actually use in Combat is Bite (save the odd Parasite early-game, pre-Scent of Fear), quite simply because I find them cumbersome and annoying to use in most situations (for some reason, I die without killing anyone whenever I use Leap in Combat... it's like a curse). However, for me, these abilities probably do occasionally have a use - I simply haven't encountered such yet, and thus never bother.
On a quick strategic side note: The psychological effect of Celerity+Silence is simply devastating, especially if you throw in one-bite kills from Focus. They just can't find you. One particularly disgruntled individual accused me of teleporting for that

Oh, man... you guys should have been there when focus applied to all weapons, including xenocide. Xenofocus, we called it. All it takes is three upgrades, so you could have it at level FOUR. It instantly killed any marine in the room with you. And note that by clearing a room in such a manner, you got all that experience. And at that time, when you leveled up, you got extra HP as well... so level 4 Xenofocus skulk would get off one room clearing explosion, jump up a few levels (and have cara+regen) and would then be able to continue xenofocusing without fear of ANYTHING. Die, spawn, switch too weapon 4, find marine(s), fire, sit there and soak up the bullets without fear, for they can't possibly kill you before you explode.
Personally, I think that xenofocus should have stayed, but with the following restriction: You don't gain xp for the marines you kill this way (helps teammates only). And of course, health up on level up was taken out anyway, so that's no longer a problem either. Longer spawn times or longer xeno-priming times could've helped as well...
I mean, there was NOTHING like the rush you got seeing four or five marines go down AT THE SAME TIME because you hit 'em all with a xenofocus.
Good times, good times.
Anyways. I don't xeno anymore because once marines get some armor upgrades, it really doesn't help much... they can survive the blast.

but no one cares for that either
