LIfe Support was an early early idea and you'r elooking at the dusty remains. It was scrapped for stupidity. A marine would be immobile but invincible when almost dead, like redemption that doesn't redeem you. The idea was that buddies would come help. But it probably didn't help the guy in the armor if your buddies were killed, then the aliens just sit there watching him <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

No, first Gorge captures a Marine in his web, then wraps him in to a ball of web and slime and then puts his eggs inside the ball with the marine. After time, little Babblers hatch, eat the marine for strength and get out of the ball. And eat some more marines.
