Okay I'm trying to get my friend into NS and he needs v2.0 for steam. The link in the beta forum is down, and I know just the classic 2.0 installer will SERIOUSLY screw up NS. So basically, does anyone have a decent mirror for the ns-v20steambeta.exe?

    1) Servers that are run by people with brains know that you don't move entirely over to a BETA build, in which the balance sucks, is buggy as hell, and is not much fun.

    2) Many servers are still on 2.01.

    you cant run 2.01 on steam and join a WON server, there are minimal steam servers for 2.01

    just get 3.0 / go back to normal HL

    honestly tephlon, there are enough bugs and glitches on 2.0 that it won't make that much of a difference what hes playing. The only good reason I could think of wanting anyone to play 2.0 rather than 3.0 is that the hivesight makes it easyer to learn maps. Combat mode is far better for learning the ins and outs of the alein lifeforms then CNS, after that, the RTS element of the game is just something he'll have to pick up the way we all did.
