<div class="IPBDescription">how does it work?</div> ok ive been playing NS for a loooong time now and i play ono once in a while and got pretty good at the stomp/devour/run away tactic to take out HA and the like. but ever since 3.0 came out i cant seem to devour anymore.

used to be that i could stomp, then crouch and eat anything. but now it doesnt seem to work. all a marine has to do is crouch and i cant eat them, ive been eaten crouching before as marine but of course they wont TELL me how they did it. what is the trick. used to be crouching to eat but now i cant seem to do it unless there standing up...

When you see a marine, choose devour and aim at his legs and press fire.. It should work fine. Some even said that you should crouch while aiming at his legs.

If the HA/LA is crouching, its better to gore him than trying to eat him..or you could try once: aim at legs & fire but if it fails, gore him.

And one good tip: you don't have to get THAT close to him, it has longer range than your bite. I have never managed to devour someone who is ducking and shooting me..but i have died alot trying <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->.

note also that, when you crouch, you have to look forward in order to have more succes. I personally don't crouch to eat a rine ( not when there are more marines around him ).

Tip: Use the tip of the horn as an aiming guide... ever since i've started that I've been snagging Jetpack rines out of the air like popcorn ^_^

Aim the tip of the horn at their body. Devour was bugged in 2.01 but it's fixed in 3.0. The funny thing is that everyone got used to the bugged way and think it's broken now.

You can also devour people through thin walls like the grating on the floor. aim the center of your screen at the marine, the same way you would if you were aiming a gun.

Yes. Point of horn is very easy to use. I do that alot <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> and also be quick when you stomp since it has been reduced time. And devourin someone through walls? yes thats useful but its also an exploit which in that case can get you banned from SOME servers. But still fun to do <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
