I don't know, but I'd guess posting...I can't really guage load times, but they're not overly long.
5 seconds on my piece-of-junk university, "we want to milk all the money out of our T1 so we're cutting off your bandwidth" connection. (it goes instantly at home...I get really mad at it here, no multi-player games.
I can go create some slightly mundane, slightly unique topics...if it's really to slow for you (too many Happy Birthday and "what should I buy?" threads).

and yes, some parts of the forums are slowing down alot (like OT)
on the oposite side I am blody swamped over at tech help (ye gods people are incompetent.....)
so yah, if your kinda board, poke around the tech help, see the multitude of posts containing the same answers to the same questions, learn them, and regurgitate them at the people who are to stupid/silly/incompetant to look down a total of 5 threads to see their EXACT same question (And then when you do help them watch as the never say thanks)
......
just got off of work, sorta bitter atm <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Explenation for Crapity BWidth despite having a massive out/in put:
1) People suck, nuff said. You know all those twits who installed Kazaa on the public lab computers? yah, go find them and bring a baseball bat <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
2) Throteling/packet shaping: You probably get good speeds when doing HTTP, and possibly FTP (but nothing else) this is b/c certain reqs for BWidth get higher priority (read more), top that off with the fact that the P2P clients almost always use port 80 and you get: People REALY suck.
3) The Faculty Sucks also: Yah, they probably get higher priority then the students, and guess what? They like porn and MP3s also (I am not kidding on this one, this was why my college lowered the cap on the faculty <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
So mix and match 1, 2, and 3 and you get why the bwidth at your college sucks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
/me feels sorta ticked off still <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
though this is helping <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'm sure they are still pretty high, but I haven't been as fully immersed in the forums due to lack of computers as of late.
I recall having a couple posts in off-topic of mine be the only posts in o/t for a good hour a two a couple days ago...
