Combat: Don't Kill The Armoury!

I've just taken NS up again (I left about a month after 2.01 came out throgh boredom), and I've noticed when I play combat that people ALWAYS target the armoury first.

Why do they do this? Everytime I've run into the marine spawn as a skulk when the armoury is still active, I've been able to bag 2 or so humpers before dying, and even people with restock use it, even though the don't need it!

So try this in your next game, leave the armoury intact, it adds a diversion. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    they take it out because they want to take something out... it also kills late-joiners


    but also opens up the area for movement (and marine aiming)

    No armory = no ammo unless you have resupply. Go lerk then gas them. Meds have a priority over ammo for resupply. Keep gassing them and they will run out of ammo sooner or later.

    Ya i agree about not killing the armory, morons always stop to stock up.

    Another thing I don't do in regular games is, if the marines relocate, and you take out their original base, when you kill the comm chair DONT KILL THE COMM! Then he has to either 1) run all the way to whereever they relocated, wasting valuable time, or 2) kill himself, but of course not before hes wasted time trying to shoot you (also is a great waste of time on servers that have suicide delay)

    Naturally its very hard to get people not to do this on pubs.

    Resuply is so powerfull, it make the following attacks useless:

    - nonstop adrenalined (!) umbra with lerk
    - attacking the armory
    - xenociding anything that has at least level 1 defense and a welder behind it.

    resupply would be powerfull if people would start to weld each other. sometimes even get no welder just to prevent that feeling that i'm the only one welding my teammates and everyone else spends their points for personal advantage, like weapon ups.

    Resupply eventually becomes useless. I worry when I have 100 hp and no armor. One focus Khara and i'm meat. >.<

    Well they target the armory first because it's the marines ammo income and is faster to kill. If the marines can't get more ammo it will be harder to survive, wich leads to the aliens being stronger.

    1) Almost always more movement room
    2) No ammo = they need resupply or the GLs and anyone who stays alive longer are screwed
    3) Marines now lose out on the health packs they recieve while getting ammo.
    4) It has less hp so it's easier to kill than the cc.

    The reason why armories are there, is they are also a medlab

    Although resupply does the job as well, it isn't a 100% guarantee (or at least that's how it is when I play....

    Why? I find it especially useful when you have Jetpack. You do not need to gather extra ammo, allowing you to fly much better without the ammo load on you. You keep the same amount every time, and if you get damaged, you can easily heal. You can take down entire hives this way.

    i useally only kill it first if i hear humpers humping... and if those humpers <span style='color:blue'>a</span>r<span style='color:blue'>e</span> gler i have to kill it <span style='color:blue'>be</span>c<span style='color:blue'>ause</span> 1. gl <span style='color:blue'>a</span>r<span style='color:blue'>e</span> easier to kill in a tunnel and 2. 12 nades against uh 36 is a big difference

    neg, it doesnt hurt late joiners at all. late joiners wont even get a clip let alone 3 off before being killed by a super skulk or lerk.

    leave it, that way you have something to hide behind, getting 3 levels from killing marines is better then them having no ammo maybe a few times, they will just die, its not like most marines actually use more then 200 bullets before deing unless they actually know how to stay alive (most dont)

    I don't get the big deal about spamming, or how it's so effective. I've tried spamming, and I'm lucky to take out one enemy. I guess i'm just not good at being a cheapa**.

    Uh, Mojo.. Medpacks take precedence over ammo. Thus a nubcaek flying around the hive through spores getting medpacks for those twelve HP he lost over the course of two seconds will never get ammo.. until he flies away and is healthy long enough for resupply to kick in and give him actual ammo.
