Another, Annoying Segmentation

Allright, i'll lay out the facts..

I'm running Metamod 1.17. Not the fixed version, either the ones from modns.org or anywhere else I leeched them from. I've tryed it with the LATEST amx, i think 0.9.4j? or something? same thing..

Since I had this type of problem before on my cs1.5, I copied the same things, reconfiged it.

At the moment now it has the NON-Fixed Metamod 1.17 from modns.org, the NS2AMX file from modns.org, running AMX 0.9.3... I tried disabling all the plugins in Metamod.

Now. I've tryed every fixed version out that I've seen for metamod fixes for NS... neither work, when I try using AMX (AMX fan.. representin'! hehe)

And it still gives me the darn error...

(I've deleted custom.hpk, i've made notice of valve dir's that needed ex: hlds_l/./valve/SAVE)

Any clue.. at all.. or maybe if someone might give me a metamod I haven't played with on my server that is fixed?..

BTW: I'm running Redhat 9 Linux.

Try disabling every plugin (including metamod), and restarting the server. If it works, then reload metamod, and load each plugin one at a time.

Also, if you're using a stock metamod 1.17, then are you running the hlds with the "+localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/ns_i386.so" or what not? Also you should note that if you use stock metamod, you will not be able to drop catalyst packs in standard NS.

Works smooth without metamod, with the regular .so gamedll, of course.

I tried adding that +localinfo line.. no spark. I only ran Metamod by itself, and it gave it. Course, its the metamod, but why all versions i've tested with?

Edit: by gave it, the segmentation error.

Add "-debug" to the ./hlds_run command line to generate a debug.log to help with solving this problem

Also another note, I don't have the glib's for -debug, but i've seen other cases on other forums of this type of error just shows the cmd executed, and yada yada.. but if' its helpful for you, i'll start getting it on to get the log.

Now, if you want, I can reup the 1.17, or the mayhem .so files for MM 1.17. (there are 2, one regular named, and one with b, not sure which is the difference, read up it was 2 different compiles.)

[EDIT]: I've tryed what I could find for MM fix'es of NS.. so i'm not that sure.

If this is with 0 plugins, I'm stumped.

Otherwise, please post your metamod/plugins.ini, and addons/amx/modules.ini and addons/amx/plugins/plugins.ini, if you don't mind.

Try this:

Remove "linux addons/metamod/dlls/mm_ns2amx_i386.so" from your addons/metamod/plugins.ini.

Add "addons/metamod/dlls/mm_ns2amx_i386.so" to your addons/amx/modules.ini.

There's a problem with ns2amx when it's loaded from metamod's plugins file, but it works when loaded with modules.ini. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. If it still crashes, try removing all amx plugins, and if that works, load them one at a time. Also be sure to try loading plain amx without ns2amx.

(The above is if it crashes only with plugins loaded...)

Viola! It must of been the NS2AMX.. I looked threw the helpfiles but notthing seemed to hit me it wasnt for metamod, but the filename itself.. it just says mm in the filename which i thought was for metamod. Thank you very much for your time, [mahn]sawce. I appreciate it. Thank you again.

Heh, you're welcome. I've really got to update ns2amx's help files... :/

I'd recommend trying to update to a newer metamod now, or you'll run into a load of other issues.

(NS2AMX technically is for metamod, but it requires AMX, it's an AMX module.)
