<div class="IPBDescription">One quarter for gaming fun!</div> It's story time once again from your friend and mine, AllUrHive!
Ok so I went down to the mall the other day, and I was absolutely tapped out. I had about 20$ and I spend most of it on a plush cat, and the rest on pretzels. Nonetheless, I stopped into EB to check out the gameage they had goin on there. After passing up the several thousand spare copies of The Sims they had lieing around, low and behold I spot this little gem on the discount games rack!

I was like "Whoa! 41 cents!" I plucked two quarters out of the bottom of my wallet and took my purchase to the counter. Of course the person working there knew of the game I had. She chuckled at me and said "Oh, the 41 cent one. I've been wondering when we were gonan sell that." Then she rung it up, and it turns out the thing had been marked down AGAIN to 21 cents. AMAZING!!!! I took it home and installed it (a process which took a very long time, which was not suprising since the game took up almost a whole gig) anhd played around with it for a while. It's actually not half bad. It's kinda ametuerish looking, and hard as hell cuz the friendly AI keeps walking into my fire, but other than that actually decent (the background music makes we want to rock out like crazy, cept not).
And the best part is, this is the first game I've actually payed for since 2002 at least.

Ironically, I played for 5 months after my free trial ended, so origin could probably have made more money by selling it for that price <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
(it was the old version, but only needed a large-ish patch to make it into the new version, a difference of £28 for an hour-long download on 56k, good deal!)
the people at the store wouldn't let him pay for it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> (they refused to ring it up and made him just take it)
I don't know if he ever actualy played it (it was a wireframe tank game <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
.. It's people like you that make the baby jesus cry.
In other news, buying old ROMs of NES games often costs more than most good PS1 games. And that says a lot.
Anybody buy new games these days? The newest game I play is NS 3.0 beta... the second newest being WC3.
Could you describe outbreak a little more?

Here's a description: awful Alien/Predator rip-off.
Funnily enough, the developers seem to have redeemed themselves hugely with Stalker.

Eh, I never liked that baby Jesus anyways. Stupid kid......
And you just reminded me! I checked with the OTHER software-retailer-type-store in the mall, and the only thing they had to compete were some NES cartridges that were going for like 29 cents. I was so **** cuz I had seen an NES in the pawn shop earlier in the week for like 10 bucks, and had not bought it. I suppose it'll still be there by the time I get my hands on some cash......

Well basically the premise of the game is that some sort of meteors are crashing into the planet, and they are bringing mind-controlling aliens with em, and you have to go kill said aliens or something. The game is mostly an FPS, but you can switch to a third-person perspective if you want. There's only one weapon model, but it switches modes to give you different weapons. For each mission you can bring along a few AI teammates, and you can choose what attributes you want them to have, and if you die you get to control them if they're still alive. Sadly the AI is retarded as hell and likes to run into friendly fire and get stuck in such solid objects as doorways.
