Ns3 Declocks My Card!

Ever since i installed this NS3 EVERYTHING is so dark, its much darker than ns2 and i cannot anything let alone other marines or aliens. I have gamma up full and everything.
Another thing which is strange is NS3 declocks my graphics card and things start running a lot slower than normal :O
What did htey do to my lovely NS? :O
