<div class="IPBDescription">Already been on alien/marine team</div> I can't remember exactly if I was halucinating this or not, but I remember that back in 1.04 I got a message (in ready room after F4) that i could not join the other team because i had already been on the alien/marine team.
Yesterday, I was playing a game and teams were Marines: 12 Aliens: 10. Some guy who became onos got wasted by an HMG and went back to RR and join marines to make the teams 13-9.
I am assuming that this was removed so that people could balance the teams if they noticed a difference, but removing this protection did more harm than good.
Would it be possible to re-implement the protection and instead of relying on the players to balance the teams, create an auto-balance module that can overwrite the protection.
Also, onos should take no damage in the front of it's head. Got all that plating...
and fade should run faster and jump highter, cuz it's got crazy legs.
my 2 cents

There *is* still a team-differential limit, which will automatically end the game if the teams become too unbalanced. It's a server variable, but I believe the default is a difference of >4.
worst idea ever... who thought of that, do tell, id like to scream in there face for a while...
how does some1 get rid of this "autowin" i truely hateing losing just because everyones a quitter, i want to stay in till the very end, not until everyone else decides its over.

That's what it's for. No use playing an 8 on 4 game.
I don't care what kind of plateing it has on its head. Nothing is going to last long when its being shot by an HMG. We have bullets now that blow past steel like it was paper, now think of the fire power of guns of TSA timeline.

yet they still use guns.....
if they were that advanced their handguns would shoot out lasers and their primary guns would shoot out death rays of impending DOOM
*ahem* i do agree that onos die too fast....even with that beefed up hp / armor.. 2 hmg or shotties can take an onos down.....especially shotties....

Is there even still a point to that, b/c any expirienced comm will just "listen" over the hive areas and can tell the marines which hive is where before someone can even go aliens. f4 rejoin and go marines.?
I know it's hardly a huge point to moan about, but i don't see the point in having a "Marine" and "Alien" doorway on a public game. Imo, all doors should lead to the "Random Team" thingy, unless Tournament mode is on (for clan play).
/rant.

i feel the EXACT same way...
"OMG u fools! what the hell you all doin in there, move your **** to ailens, you think the marine bouncer is gonna be nice to you if you keep nagging him, jeez"
2) I believe there are meta/admin mods that turn all team joins into random joins. Otherwise, it's up to the mapper. Some mappers have talked about putting "jointeamrandom" entities right behind their "jointeamX" entities -- so if marines are full, anyone running into that doorway will automatically go random. That, of course, is a mapper's choice.

I know about the mod thing that does it (and the mod that automatically places you on a random team as soon as you join the game, that's a good 'un). The trouble is, most servers don't have it. And they can be bypassed with a bind to "jointeam1" or w/e it is.
Basically, i want the doorways, and that line of code, to either be turned off, or set to random unless Tournament mode is on, because there's no point being able to pick your own team apart from stacking with your clan (and the ammount of times i saw that.... even with vets in the closed beta, and not the new vets either) or joining the same team as your friend, which is less evil, but leads to the same thing: Lots of people standing in the marine (or alien in rarer cases) doorway, while the teams are 4 - 2 in favour of the doorway they're stacking.
You can tell it's happening even when you're IN the game. You see the teams are unfair by two people, lots of people still in the RR, someone joins the team with less people and immediately someone joins the other team. It is really beginning to **** me off.
Btw, i know this argument is petty. I don't need to be told (heh), but i've got to make it known somewhere.
It's "jointeamone" and "jointeamtwo", by the way.
