<div class="IPBDescription">A simple discussion</div>I wasn't sure what to do with this topic, so I threw it in OT.  Though version 1 is still in works, though seemingly close to being finished, I was curious to know what sort of ideas are planned/desired/up-in-the-air for v2.

By now we should all have a really good idea about what is and isn't in V1, so any comments on V2?

    Well i suggested night vision (conan vision as i called it) and Flay said it was a good idea, but im not sure if he was just humoring me or not. So that might be in v2.

    Oh yes. I think that was one of the "when it's done" things, aside from the mod itself. I.E., it's going in when it's all figgered out and perfect.

    I'm not trying to bug the Dev team, just wondering what people have been thinking about it.  Didn't I hear something about a marine ability something along the lines of beserker rush?  Tweaked for balance of course.

    Lerks that can cling to ceilings?

    Maybe fades should have the ability to pick a location and then teleport there (a bit like UT's teleporter). Obviously the location is reset when he dies so he cant just jump into the fray. Itd be more useful for returning safely to an area and maybe take more energy than normal teleports.

    common, you gotta a bunch a marines running around who need to EAT, POOP, and freshan up every now and then... pooping in a john will give you like an instant 50 health, and then if the aliens attack the john, it "flips over" and and....

    ok, nevermind, maybe Ill just map a bathroom and a caffeteria...

    Alien queen for the Aliens. She lays eggs and from the eggs new Alien players born. Every five minutes or so, the strongest Alien player needs to make love with the Alien queen to make her pregnant so that she can lay some more eggs

    @Zawath seems a bit bit pervert and btw. i think ripping that from Alien Trilogies is not that good i think, and all 5 minutes one egg? that would take over 20 minutes for 4 aliens, and they have to collect recources after that so they can evovle, and that would be much too long, mariens are much faster than that...

    @toppic i think it would be interesting if we had tanks for outside levels, maybe a few more alien tyoes (meaning sth. like different races, that evolve different, which would be cool also). but that would take even longer than v1 did, since you have to create a better physiks engine for cars, and outside levels cant be too big because hl has a not good enough engine <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    Yes! Another race!  A highly evolved, intelligent race!  We'll call them: pr0ntoss! ... ok sorry..

    Perhaps not on v2, but somewhere down the line a third race sounds good- but it'd resemble SC and AvP all the more.  
    Suddenly I get this happy vision of 4 marines welding a small mech together... oooo.  I can just see the balance issues =P

    I'd like to see the locationtext be in the next version, i really like how it simplifies calling for backup or telling where the enemies are.
    Alot of mods have started to use this system and it works great if you ask me, adds alot of effect to the gameplay.
    The first mod i've seen to use it was FLF and it still works nice.

    For those of you who dont know what im talking about, here's an example.

    Player1: Enemies here, ehh in that big room to the left.. furnace something!   <---- No locationtext.

    (Blast Furnace)Player1: Enemies here! <----Locationtext


    See how it simplifies and shortens the actual line you have to type?

    Laser Sights
    Belted Backpack feed for the LMG and HMG (a la Wolf Brigade)

    Aliens: maybe a flying version of the lerk gun?
