The Things You Hear From Little Kids...

a horror story.
I volunteer at my local church's sunday school every week. It's great, the kids are awesome, the other volunteers are cool, and I get free food. Now, I've been going there for some 3 or 4 months, and I've gotten to know some of the kids pretty well. Anyways, recently this one girl (let's call her uhm... Jane) hasn't been around the past one or two weeks. This other girl, uhm... Jennifer, is her friend or something. Earlier today, I heard from one of the adults at the school that Jane had been badly burnt in a fire ... or something. Apparently, she'd heard it from Jennifer. I asked Jennifer about this after class, and here's what she tells me:
Jane's dad, apparently, had gotten divorced some weeks before, and was "very mad" that he had to pay so much alimony or lost all his stuff or w/e :\. In his depression, he decided to kill himself. Well -- not just kill himself, according to Jennifer, he walked into some store, grabbed some gasoline, poored it on himself, and lit himself on fire. This caused an explosion, which shook the window and burnt some people near him, including Jane, the daughter. She then went on to tell me how Jane had 30% of her body burned and was on painkillers, and the dad was on life support.
Obviously, I'm shocked. Now that I think about it, any rational mind would've immediately seen the holes in her story, and how it couldn't possibly be true, but then, I wasn't very rational right then. So today, after watching a ripped version of The Return of the King, I decided to do some research. I did a search for fire at our local newspaper's website. It didn't yield any positive results, just depress me even more.
By now, it's obvious that her story couldn't be true -- something that big had to be on the local news at least, if not national. What I figure happened is that Jane really did get seriously burnt somehow, but Jennifer must've misintrepreted what her mom had said. Well, I'm glad that's over with, I'd hate to think that something like that actually happened so close to where I live .
p.s. don't get me wrong, jennifer is absolutely one of the sweetest and smartest little girls alive
oh and on a side note, my IE just froze because some how, my computer launched a mass of "ping.exe"s, taking up 50% of my resources and computer cycles. any idea wth that was?

If you ever have time to respond after finishing off movies, let us know what happened, will ya? The suspense is killing me...
WTHh4x?
How did you manage to post without writing anything?
I fail to see how this relates to the post, or how that jab at faith was warrented.

huh.
i'm glad you all enjoyed my story, it scares me that people on this forum care more about computer viruses then little 7 year olds getting 3rd degree burns .

Yeah I did, and either there was no point or I completely missed it. And your last post suggests that there WAS a point, so I figured it was a really lame one, so I just responded to that.
if you didn't care about what a stranger thought, you wouldn't be posting here nonstop .
Everything floats down here.
