NS combat is played on smaller maps. The objective of the game is to destroy the alien hive as marine, and the marine com chair as alien. You gain experiance for making kills, and with that experiance you level up. with each level you can choose an upgrade (ie, new weapon, armor 1, regeneration L1, and soforth) In the current build of NS combat you do not lose your experiance for dieing, and hence, spawn with all your upgrades, and upgraded equipment. As for the ins and outs of "hambone mode" I don't really know what will be featured, but I understand that it is a modification of NS combat, and will not effect the workings of NS classic.
Does player limit go down if your NS classic is above the....projected best playable player limit for CO
i dont understand. Or just stays same way.
The player limit is determined by the server running NS, so the only way that would change is if the admins reset the server every game.
I would suspect that most servers will be dedicated to one build or the other, although many servers will probably be just like CS and switch between the 2 seemlessly.
Whoah, wats this about new weapons? I ain't heard anything about new weapons except the hand grenade, but you said weapons which is plural, is there something i'm missing or is it classified?
Flayra did promise a suprise for everyone in v3.0, I don't think its a new weapon though. A few people seem to think it may be 3rd person reload animations.
I thought they removed the player dependency for map changes between ns_ and co_ maps? Or has it become a feature?
NS:combat default mode you have permanent upgrades once you have earned the exp for them but in hambone mode you have to re-evolve/re-upgrade anything you want including weapons and lifeforms.
The idea is its a lot more flexible and you can change playstyle alot easier.

Better yet... gorgies with full featured bums.
It could be the return of ns_nancy <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> but we already know about that.

No, they're new in 3.0. Seems like this is the suprise. The reload animations for the Heavy aren't done though, so that might be the cause they havn't coded it in yet.
when you get an upgrade that a chamber allows it is instantly level 3 (NS:C only)
Speaking of, anyone have a link to a post with a release date or anything? I saw the front page said "holiday release" which ehh....was weeks ago.
