<div class="IPBDescription">Can anyone help?</div> Um, I seem to have lost my hl.wad in the upgrade to STEAM. Has anyone else experienced this? And is it possible to download it? I only need a night-sky texture, really...

Tried Search, tried google, tried everything...

    if you checked that checkbox to remove older copies of halflife, then yes, your hl.wad will be gone. Mappers like myself, keep an extra copy in our worldcraft/hammer folders.

    You may also get it by downloading th halflife SDK from sierra, or from the CD.

    The missing HL.wad, along with the lack of a offline available LAN, are the only things I don't like about steam. (I have to keep a copy of the Won version because I am on a laptop, so I do not always have a connection.) I heard somewhere (forget where) that they are tring to fix both those problems. IMHO I say you should still keep a Won version of HL for mapping until they fix this two problems
