Demos?

Does anyone know how to get demos to work? I downloaded one and when I went to play it (already unzipped) it said I needed to pick a program to play it so I picked Quicktime, Windows Media Player and even Internet Explorer and everytime it told me that the programs dont reconize .dem files <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> What do I do?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->?

in order to watch demos, you need to open ns go to "console" then at the screen you type, playdemo _.dem

and it needs to be in the same mod's directory.

Put the demoname.dem file in the mod directory.
Then, start a game (LAN game preferably), open the console and enter playdemo demoname.dem

I guess this belongs in the tech support forum also.

thanks for the help. I downloaded a video and did what u guys said and it worked perfectly. Now my question is does any1 know any websites to find more decent demos...hopefully a comm demo <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

this program makes it easy to manage demos and makes playing them really easy.

You can also tryout "Geekplay" for demos. I'm not sure what the link is so just do a google search on it. You can not make demos when been in the comm chair, I guess this is due to limitations on the HL engine.
