<div class="IPBDescription">Things dont look good</div>Hello i am a new poster but i have followed NS for about 5 months now.
From what i have read that summer release they have been hinting at might not happen now.
I know that you people will flame me or tell me that it will be released "when its done."
I got my infomation from the annoucement(sp) board. I pray to jebus that I am wrong but i just had to admit i had my little hopes up. and well all did. Well when ever it is released i hope you guys do a good job with it so that everyone can see how much of a impact a mod for hl can have on people.

But anyway, although there's not a whole lot of time left before summer's over, things seem to be shaping up nicely: the NDA has been (mostly) lifted, most if not all of the maps are complete, I believe all the placeholders have been replaced, and there seems to be some "secret" that will be unveiled upon release that seems to be done as well.
I mean hey, what do I know, but if anyone can pull off a summer release, it's these guys. And if it's not out by summer, well, then, like you said, it doesn't really matter: I'm so busy with school and everything I don't have a lot of free time anyway.
Now then, let's look on the bright side:
1) The Non-Disclosure Agreement binding all playtesters has been lifted; this would suggest that much that was STC (subject to change) is now firmly decided!
2) MonsE has been working his tail off behind the scenes with file servers, game server admins, and other groups.
3) The manual is well under way and looks *fabulous* (I've seen the artwork); it will hopefully be released soon.
4) As a playtester, I can tell you that balance is close to perfect and there are only a few major bugs (and some smaller ones) left to iron out.
All these things suggest that NS is getting close! Please don't lose faith. (: In the meantime, browse the forums, check out <a href="http://www.readyroom.org" target="_blank">The Readyroom</a>, and say hi!
By the way, the less-than-wonderful reception you got is because there have been many, MANY threads started about "missing the summer release." Using the <a href="http://www.natural-selection.org/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?act=Search;CODE=00;f=1" target="_blank">Search Button</a> will hopefully help you avoid duplicating over-discussed subjects. Welcome, good sir, and I certainly appreciate your courtesy. It's a good way to make a good first impression. As far as the summer release thing goes...eh. We don't have it now, so what's waiting a bit longer for the finished product. Remember, people work better (and quicker) when they aren't pressured, so do try to be a little optomistic in the future.
Also, keep in mind that Flayra has no source of income right now. This release is going to become his resume, and, hopefully, get him his next ridiculously high-paying job. He's got enough pressure on that thought alone to everything perfect, so let's not dump too much extra onto him.
