Ns Messed My Mic Up....

When i played counter-strike or day of defeat...my mic was working great..
but i installed NS and now my mic just wont work at all it is all echo and static and i have tryed fixing it typeing in all the sound commands i know and still there is no hope..
i have windows xp home
nvidia geforce 4mx 440
256 mb
80gb harddrive
and a sound blaster sound card..
is there something i am doing wrong here??

ok i got it fixed...but there is this echo that wont go away and my speakers are no where near my computer...is any 1 else having this prob..or dose any 1 know what is wrong?

I have the same problem before also. I changed some commands parameters and then changed them back and it started working but voice is very low as ppl tell me to where there is no point to use mic, And all my volumes are maxed dont know how to fix the rest of it at this point.
