How Did You Spend Your New Years Eve?

Pretty much what the title says... What did you do on new years eve?

For me.. I spent it depressed at how much I had messed up last year, then later depressed because I realized that if I tried to speak my mind to the only people who I trust.. they would either ignore me or make it worse..
Oh.. yeah.. and then I decided that even though I knew they would only make it worse, to talk to them about it anyways. That sure helped.. </sarcasm>

Funny.. just like last year.

Edit: If Monse were to stumble upon this post I just know he would say something about me being a stupid teenangster and then try to kill me.. or something like that. Heh..

    I dicided not to spend it like last year, which included getting drunk, breaking a mirror, falling on a bookshelf infront of the cops, and then pukeing. Rather I spent a nice evening watching movies.

    As for me, I didn't know what everyone was doing until the last minute. The past few years we went to someone's place and got drunk. This year, apparently the plan was to go into Freemantle and go pub crawling. Kind of easier to do when you're actually at the legal drinking age (which, this year, we all are). Anyway, didn't really sound like such a good idea so I went to a friend's house (who just got back from spending a year in Europe) and spent the evening\morning getting mildly inebriated, progressivly more and more exhausted, and watching anime.

    Yay! A new year!

    Another year of military operations, men way from their families, muslim extremist suicide bombings, ethnic genocides in the Balkans, corporate and capital hill scandals, new diseases and ailments, the Bush administrations almost Salem witch trial-like accusations of terrorism, and mainly, new jerks to meet. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->


    Well, world events aside, there are some pretty wicked games to look forward to!

    Full Spectrum Warrior, NS 3.0, Pandora Tomorrow, and I heard rumors of a new Front Mission game being shipped stateside.

    Back when I was at university, I spent every new year's eve helping organise a big charity event in Edinburgh, and quite frankly all I want now from new year's eve is a bit of peace and quiet, so I sat in front of the fire with a cat and a bottle of whiskey and looked back on what's been a very good year (a good job, getting engaged, etc) after the utterly dreadful few years before it.

    Besides, seeing as <a href='http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/3358835.stm' target='_blank'>this</a> was the only alternative I'd considered, I'd say I made the right choice. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Our Designated Driver didn't show up, so I took his place.
    Had fun hanging out with my friends from high school, just talking and watching TV.

    Then at 2 or 3 their time (I live a time zone ahead of them, so it was later for me) I went to bed on a sofa. Got up real early, and went home.

    was awake for 32 hours until 10:30pm new years eve, then fell asleep and got woken up by a HUGE firework going off about 2 feet from my window. Then fell asleep again, and woke up just under 1hr 30 mins ago.

    Finally made my first large alcohol purchase (I reached drinking age 15 months ago and only bought a few drinks here and there) which consisted of a 12pack of corona and a 12pack of mikes hard cranberry lemonade.     I missed the changeover though. I was watching my southpark for "a while" after 10pm. After a few episodes I decided to check my watch and it was 12:50........ oops.


    All in all it was better than last year, when all I did was play hitman 2 (which reminds me that I still haven't beaten that game).

    I was working until 11pm and slipped in the slush several times on the way back home. The TV wasn't working so I spent about 20 minutes checking all the connections and then looked online to see that the service for this particular company was down.
