Transparency Problem

Hi I know there are many posts on transparency but I havent see the one I am looking for. Apperently steam doesnt have the dlls I need to make stuff transparent. And NS is not the only game I am having this problem with cause when I use a transparent weapon in DOD it also goes completely away. All this while in steam... Could someone help me out here?

First of all, be sure you don't do anything wrong with the compile itself

Here's what I would do:
download the <a href='http://www.pfcook.force9.co.uk/DoD_Dlls.zip' target='_blank'>DoD Dlls</a>,
and place them in .../Steam/Steamapps/youremail@lala.com/Half-Life/

what do you use OpenGL or Direct3D

opengl 1024, ati 96 xt with the new catalyst drivers 3.10. just in case thqt helps

if it's a laser, a gradient that goes from black to red or something, make sure it's set on "additive", not "transparent" in HLMV

take dod dll's OUT of steam!!! they are already there, something is getting t3h feck3d

if that doesn't work then try opening the model in jed's hlmv and see if its additive there

ok the second i started using d3d it started to work, hell all the lag i was having in opengl left and im like what the hell? Anyone know what is going on with this crap?

Run a windows update to make sure you have all the latest drivers and stuff.

everything is up to date, apperently the only problem is my card as it works perfectly on my other computer with the gforce, its probably the drivers for the radeon...
