Ask any marksman.
However, those are really neat for surfing the net and other game genres.

My cheap optical mouse is absolutely fantastic for gaming. It's so fluid in comparison to my old ball mouse.

My mx700 is waaay better than any of my old ballmouses.
OPTICAL WIRELESS LOGITECH MOUSE
i jus love mine!!111
sorry homer, but whatever 'marksmen' you're talking to either have broken mice or haven't actually used them and are just talking crud to you =/
<b>edit:</b> seeing I'm blowing my own trumpet might as well throw in that I've got a 102% accuracy rate in sniper scope... my most shameful accuracy is 98% but I blame the stupid bosses for the loss as I usually have 100 or higher until I reach them =3
For anyone who's not played sniper scope, the only way to increase your accuracy rating (and therefore get over 100%) is to kill multiple targets with a single shot <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I have a CHEAP (17€) Logitech one, and I've never got any problem... it's even better when you set the number of packets to 150-200 and at 200hz <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
I don't regreet my 3 old ball mice, the 3 of them were crappy <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Don't ask me, then. I use a Logitech optical mouse right on the desk surface, and I'm an excellent sniper.

See, the problem with the wireless concept is that it interferes with other wireless signals in your home. Mostly cordless phones in your house.
It skips when you move too fast, and it doesn't move at all when you make a tiny move.

You're gonna hate your mouse in a short period of time. Spend $10 oin a decent one w/o your parents (or whoever got you the gift) knowing <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->.
My Mouse:
I've only ever had the one optical mouse and it's always worked like a dream; on a fun note it does skip if you move it <b>extremely</b> fast like in that 'spank the monkey' flash game, but when i tried it with several ball mice out of exasperation, I actually found that they all skipped at those speeds too ^^;
Small movement-wise never had any trouble but like I say, I've only ever owned this one as far as optical mice go (though I did use a few friends opticals and some in university which seemed pretty much like mine =3 )
Which come with the mx700...along with a base to recharge them. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
can't say the wire on my mouse has ever been a bother anyways.

mines is an old fuddy duddy microsoft explorer optical mouse; you can't get them like this anymore I hear... the new design doesn't have the 'hump' on it ^^
Anyways, mines is a 5 buttoner too and it's super useful in games like rocket crowbar 2 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I've just about rubbed all the silver finish off it through years of use though <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Well, yes. But unless your hand is made out of straw, you'll be able to pick it up. Besides, it's not like you wave it in the air like a wand.
seriously optical mouse way to go <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
