Problem With Steam

Recently, I installed full CS with Steam. The software said detecting a software called 'Natural-Selection'.

It asked me if I wanted to put it into the game list of Steam. Then, I installed it. However, when I started NS

with Steam, error occurred, "This application has failed to start because fmod.dll was not found. Re-installing

the application may fix this problem". Thus, I reinstalled Steam, but the same problem happened to me. It

also said, "could not load library ......steam\steamapps\......\half-life\ns\cl_dlls\client.dll". Therefore, I went

check the directory and the file "client.dll" was there. What is the problem with that? Can anyone help

me Thanks a lot.

NS installs fmod.dll into your HL directory to add MP3 support. When you installed Steam, that file never got copied. I believe that is what causes the client.dll error, also. You need to go into your original non-Steam HL directory and copy fmod.dll into the new folder ("......steam\steamapps\......\half-life").

BTW, when Steam said "Re-installing the application may fix this problem", it was referring to the mod, not Steam. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Also downloading the special steam install of ns in the public beta server forum should solve these and most other problems with using ns on steam.
